Criminally under-rated band. Their album got incredible reviews but it just never quite took off then the 2nd album never really came properly.

I remember in like 2004 they did a joint headline tour with The Zutons and a load of reviewers tipped DDIHC to be much bigger and popular than The Zutons...

Anyway least they didn't just come out now cos they'd have even less support - music thats popular these days is so wank!

I don't know if this is what the lyrics were aiming for, but this whole song reminds me of that horrible feeling at family functions...in laws and distant relations and people who could barely care if you disappeared tomorrow yet still get offended if you don't show up at their anniversary party...blech...

@Astley It sounds horrible but I kinda feel like this about my grandma sometimes so it's totally believable that one of the band member's grandmother inspired the song. Mine is so closed-minded and ignorant that it drives me absolutely crazy, but after all she's my dad's mom and I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for her so I gotta give the old woman some credit.

WOW... i discovered these guys by accident at Half Price Books... their album was pre-used and only $5.00, so I picked it up like, "Hey, what a cool band name." And I am SO glad I did. I can't get over how great they are. Dogs Die in Hot Cars is AWESOME!!

what the fuck happened to this band? I read about them in NME once when they were profiling two up-and-coming Scottish bands (the other being Franz Ferdinand). Then i heard them on a Scottish stand up comedy show, where they played Godhopping, which was fucking great. Bought the album then didnt hear about them again!!!!
