I think they should have Jemma Rix (Elphaba) and Lucy Durack (Glinda) both from australia as the mains. They are amazing, and both young, Lucy has the right voice for Glinda i think, and she is very pretty. Jemma is just an amazing singer, and can hit all the right notes. She also looks very good in green. I also think Annaleigh would be a good Glinda aswell!

Well, I like almost everyone together (although Annaleigh & Steph aren't my favorite). And I like almost everyone individually (including Annaleigh & Stephanie). I don't like Julia's singing, but her acting is superb! And Victoria's voice isn't nearly strong enough for the role, but she has a good voice.

I'm not sure...Marissa Jaret Winokur won the Tony for best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical for Hairspray and wasn't in the movie. Idina Menzel would look too old for the part on screen, same for Kristin, they're supposed to be in college. Kristin was an amazing Galinda but she's 40 (even if she looks way younger), she can play a 20-year-old on stage but not on screen, same for Idina...

They are ageless - on stage! I'm not a huge fan of Idina, she's got a voice don't get me wrong and she was perfect in Rent, but from a strict vocal point of view she's far from being the best Elphaba ever. I think someone like Shoshana Bean or perhaps Alexia Khadime would make a perfect Elphaba on screen. I am a huge fan of Julia Murney but let's be realistic, if Idina looks too old she sure does too. For Glinda...well...I think Annaleigh may be not beautiful enough though she's great performer!
What about Eden Espinosa? I think she does look young enough (look at her during "Defying Gravity" she looks really young there), and she has reached some fantastic vocal levels (did you ever hear her "No Good Deed"? She OWNED that song!). As for Annaleigh, I think she's one of the prettiest, if not the prettiest, Glindas. But that's my opinion. And you're right, she is a great performer. :)
I think they should cast new, fresh and amazing performers for the movie : ) I think they did a pretty good job finding Nikki Blonsky for the part of Tracy in Hairspray. I only know that I would love to see Julie Andrews as Madame Morrible : ) or perhaps Meryl Streep! Or Angela Landsbury! And Patrick Wilson would make a perfect Fiyero but once again the age is problematic...I'm just happy I won't have to deal with this myself lol!

They can still be in the movie. Remember, the musical takes place in the past AND the future. Somebody can play the character's in the past and Idina and Kristin and play the characters in the future or "now"
They used to be a great SJB + Annaleigh video for WITF, as well as defying gravity, but the owner took them down. :/

They can still be in the movie. Remember, the musical takes place in the past AND the future. Somebody can play the character's in the past and Idina and Kristin and play the characters in the future or "now"
