@younmurda you can get all gens with turbos...b6-b8...your going to be looking at 1.8t's or 2.0t's..if your looking to make it fast as hell and dump over 5k into performance go with a 2002-2005 a4 thats a manual
camry dude go back to japn! XLE is a heavier car with a 3.0.this is a 1.8turbo/manual the damn thing was made to be drag raced! I only shift below 2500 is when my empty tank light comes on LAMO!
i could have bought a plastic nippon car for 2 dollars also, but i like ze german cars to much, audis are SOO nice to cruise around in.....or plastic american crap also
yeah, i'm serious. I drive an older Camry 93 XLE V6 with lotsa power but i've babied this car and has been by previous owner. You can hardly hear it idle and at 140K miles, 60K miles after I got it, she still runs like new.
for normal driving, i shift my b6 a4 at or under 3000 rpms. Actually, even for little spurts to pass cars and stuff, i never really have to go much pass 3000 rpms.
@cinkmoot i sifht my suzuki wagonR+ even at 6500 rpm sometimes. i depends on the car and mostly on the driver. what is the point in getting that engine then? because we love it! you can get the 1.6 and be happy obviously we don't think the same when we talk cars.
I still dont see the point revving a car all that high. My almost 17yr old car - you cant hear it idle. When i'm really pushing it, 3000 rpm makes me shudder.
I love cars and engines, just dont push them all that much considering the wear you're puttingon the engine.
i am not saying that if i don't reach 6000 rpm i don't shift. cars are different and also are the people that drive them. where i live you need to drive pretty aggressive at times and u end up shifting at high rpm's. i agree that shifting around 2200 - 2300 u get better gas milleage and less engine wear and tear but like i was saying we are all different. congrats on the 17 year old car.
wow....he doesnt know how to drive this car...you cant push the A4 to redline then shift...you are already out of your power band by then...the K03s loses it's efficiency by like 5,300rpm
X2... the only possible benefit of reving that high would be just for faster 0-60 mph or 0-100kph... other than that, it's pointless to take a k03 that high...

that may be for your car, but a4's run higher rpms, 3000 to 4000 is normal shifting for an audi. at least for my b6 a4
