@Jimmybobburns No. The OLPC design originally had an internal crank built in, but they decided to leave it out of the production versions after testing, where they discovered that it broke all to easily. There is no crank built in, and it would not be in the instructions. I know this, because I also purchased one of these through the Give One Get One program.

Just wondering if you're still using your XO. I've heard that a lot of people were playing with them for a while before giving them away or selling them on E-bay.

I still use mine pretty often, since it's easier to use than my Vista-Laptop, and get's better WiFi. Plus it's a chick magnet, but that's another story.

I've been watching the early unboxing videos of people's XO laptops and I have yet to see any of the videos point out the hidden memory card slot and have watched many people pushing the hinge thinking it is a latch.

Nice review for pointing out the tiny details like the latch's knob, texture, removed CAPS lock (Deemed not required), etc.
