I had a xfi.. I drove all the way across texas on like 10 gallons. Great car never had one problem with it. I traded it for a 98 z28...lol oh yeah ford aspires were not nearly as good. My wife had one as a rental car back in the day... she said it aspired to be a metro
No they were great cars. A friend of mine had one. It still ran great when he sold it...with 245,000 miles on it, and it still got 45 mpg. These oldies now suffer from unibody frame rust pretty bad so you gotta watch what you buy.
It is funny that 20 years ago we had small cars that got 50mpg, but if someone does that today and it doesn't have a big frikkin battery in it, they act like they just invented water.
I would almost kill someone to have my Metro's back now. I had three of them 91 Metro 2-door, 90 Metro 4-door and a 92 Metro conv. I remember the gas mileage I was getting it was crazy, I also wouldnt mind having my Ford Aspire back it got pretty good mileage too as long as u didnt attempt to run the air conditioner to much

inexpensive, great on gas...
...shitty car otherwise. It's no wonder most people like it for its mileage ;)

Ok, so was there a single geo car that was actually domestic?? metro/swift, prizm/carolla. etc. etc.
bliglum 1 year ago
@bliglum Nope, all were rebadged or reskinned imports from Toyota, Suzuki, or Isuzu.

@AlexanderRozhenko LOL! Yeah, I figured as much.. I was originally sad wen GEO went belly up, but now I know it was for the best.

I have 6 of them 91 to 93 and I love the mileage. The autos with A/C gets 37 mpg the sticks get 49 to 53 and my pride and joy xfi gets 68 mpg.
What I do not get is why they will not bring the geo back.
You know save the planet thing.
Cheap to fix. easy to repair . they almost never break down.
The ONLY thing I can say bad about a geo is when you get into an accident your in bad shape or DEAD.
Better than a motorcycle in the rain and getting things.
I use mine like an SUV.
