This is my first time hearing Mayhem, and I'm actually pleasantly surprised. They've got a legitimate melody going on here. It's dark, it's groovy, it's GOOD. Their drummer is seriously talented.

This version is pretty cool, but I like the Dead versions better. I think they should have done this song with Dead on vocals, and a little more faster, sped-up. It's just too bad Dead committed suicide too early before that was a chance.

@1Sky1 It is funny that you mention Mayhem and Burzum together as Burzum is Varg Vikernes one man project that started after the "exit" from Mayhem. Venom is from 1979, Bathory is from 1983 and Mayhem is from 1984, so the difference is not that big between Bathory and Mayhem, but Burzum however started in 1991, so like 12 years gap and Mayhem only got a 5 year gap to Venom.

So yes Mayhem is indeed old school.

What my meaning was, was varg has been in the black metal scene for as long as mayhem, which is about as long as venom and bathory. I used 'burzum' because not as many people know him as varg, and even less known him as Count. I know my bm :)

As an example I have no clue what Zephyrus real name is, I looked it up once, but I forgot.
