  • I seen her live twice in 1980 but the sound mix in this is awful

  • Wow..early riverdance at 3:25!!!

  • this was the first music I saw/heard from Toyah. I was 15 and I remember just sitting with my mouth open staring at TV and thinking this was amazing! I went from a die hard Abba fan to a die hard Toyah fan!!! LOL.

  • @Alec21041965 o my goondess! You are me. I too was a total Abba fan (still am), but then I saw Toyah first on Shoestring, then her itv documentary. I too became a total Toyah fan and I have been ever since. Great isn't it!

  • excellent

  • i wish i lived to see one of her concerts back in the eightees. unfortunatly i was born in 1991 :(.

  • she was definitely watchable and I had a bit of a crush on her even if she was slighly crap

  • Toyah is just magnificent here. Yes, before the 'sell out', but she had to move on. Still love her. Happy days!

  • Toyah at her peak before the sell out.

  • Thanks for this. Never knew Toyah did OGWT

  • better than lady gaga anyway, and think of all the awards shes after winning,

I suppose we still have jedward to look forward to.

  • I remember when Dave Balfe of teardrops explodes smacked Charlie Francis in the mouth....Ouch

  • Oh dear. I would have used Toyah's shit for toothpaste... However, this is inedible shite..

  • Sorry- 'Friday night-Saturday morning'.

Just Checked Wikip'- she hosted on the 28th November 1980- with guests, Vivian Stanshall, Christopher Biggins, Steve Strange and Derek Jarmen.

  • I think I remember Toyah once hosting the show 'Friday evening, Saturday morning' sometime in late 1980. I believe she performed 'Ghosts' and 'Mummies' and 'Danced' - and as a young teenager, I was instantly mesmerised by this song- her looks and her distinctive, creative, imaginative style.

Would be good if someone could find that Toyah appearance and put it on You Tube

    Brilliant Girl!

  • Hmm. Toyah always did this kinda dance, esp to Danced and Ieya. In this early era check the brass bangles, the claw and ball earing and eye ring. Check ! I got them all (lol lol!)! Just lovely. Mr XJR, you are welcome to your opinion, but ya just don't get it if ya don't like it. Don't watch it. Plenty of people LOVE it. Toyah was and is a bundle of creative energy. A great peformer and all round nice lady. Very giving to her fans. Thanks for posting this. Andyx

  • I remember this so vividly-where would us late 70's early 80's kids be without life soundtracks a la OGWT & Peely? Toyah & Siouxsie were major influences on me as strong female role models-there wasn't as many about back then as there are now (post Spice Girls). Her LWT documentary was inspiring, intriguing & influencial for me as a teenager & I went on to design clothing & work with bands. I wouldn't be who I am if it wasn't for people like Toyah encouraging me to stand out rather than blend in

  • I do think exactly like you. I freed from "blending" thanks to Siouxsie & later, Toyah. The world needs people like them!!!

  • @DesirableDecadence1 @Alec21041965 You know, I dont like (radical) feminists, as a rule.. I think people like Toyah, Siouxie, or Chrisie Hynde, or Debbie Harry, made more for women in music, etc, that all that crazy b*ches.

  • Wow, the old Toyah band! Pete Bush on keyboards, Charlie Francis on bass and Steve Bray on drums! Where are you now, guys?

    Never seen this before, cheers

  • @KateFan - well, Charlie Francis is doing well as a producer these days and I think I read that he has even worked with Toyah again in the last couple of years... Steve Bray is still drumming and is looking remarkably well from the band photos I saw (the name of the band escapes me)... I think Pete Bush retired from the music business which is a shame as I liked his style.

  • Wow! Never seen this! Thanks for posting. Vocal mix is terrible but Joel's guitar sounds sweet as ever. Miss those days! lol

  • gosh ,i love this woman

  • when I was young and impresionable I bought this and actually thought it meant something!!! ha ha! ...nice bit of community centre aerobics there!!

  • she was as brilliant than actually!

    thanks to share!

  • wow this is brilliant, what a voice. I've been a fan for 27 yeats and still not seen her live.
