  • very helpful, thanks

  • Hello Dr. Stephen. My favorite iPad app is the Ghostwriter Notes. My friend recommended this to me that I should go to majorspot[dot]com

I use this whenever I have executive meetings. And it is very easy to take down notes.

  • Can I export my Audionote files to Microsoft Word? My college uses Microsoft Word, and I still use a PC at home.

Can I organise my notes on Audionote into categories (such as subjects like 'Politics') and then organise those categories into sub-categories (such as 'Politics - Democracy')

  • Is there any app that will allow to open an pdf file and take notes inside the PDF file?

Cuz my university teachers give as everything on PDF and we need to take some notes on the pdf file sometimes

  • @lusoWOLF Try note plus

  • Evernote has been my favorite application. I've been using an iPad for 6 weeks in class and it works really well.

  • Thanks for the guide, I'm a nursing student and find the apps useful for clinical. This is a very helpfull video.

  • canadian?

  • Buy a wifi ipad, and tether to your iphone.

  • Thanks everyone, I am glad you liked the video!

  • @phelandentalseminars No thanks a lot!!!

  • Awesome Dr. Steven.. just what i was looking for ... and i was not bored at all i could watch you for hours,,, you were perfect...

    Thanks again Sir.. :)

  • Ironically, I was looking into getting an ipad to take notes for Dental CE courses! I was just browsing and everyone else's videos on ipad notetaking apps are from students/non healthcare professionals. It was nice to be able to see a dentist use the ipad and apps that I could use. My biggest issue was being able to find apps that would allow me to type AND draw (prep designs, endos, etc.) in the same note! You've convinced me to get an ipad, Dr. Phelan!

  • great vid... do you know of any that are similar to these but are free... for students like me?

  • lol he almost drew a penis....lol

  • but the mic in the ipad is not the best. Do you use an external mic with an ipad?

  • thanks! these 2 apps are what I have been searching for my whole week!

  • very helpful thanks for showing me this app!

  • im looking for a note app in which you can write with a stylus pen and then able to edit them in word

  • Is it possible to print those notes in order to have a hard copy?

  • Testing

  • Excellent, excellent video! It was the only place that left me with answers! Thanks so much!

  • How much are these apps

  • There are students who use Audio for their lectures, so perhaps this is a very useful tool. I have an iPad and I use it to study at home, not take note lectures. I seems easier and convenient to take notes on paper than by digital hardware. Now, reviewing notes in PDF etc is helpful and attentive. Photos, diaphragm, research ....etc

  • I see some disadvantages...how do u know where is your audio located? what about exporting audio and text? I noticed the initial keyboard doesn't have easy access for markers like numbers (1,2 ,3) or letters (a.b.c). Letters and numbers marker is common in note taking and having shortcuts is important.

  • @DJTEVAdotCOM example:

    The Dog Life

    1. dfghghhh a. dfdgfgffdsfdf

  • jesus...how many ipad do you need...you should get one for the bathroom since ipad 2 is out.

  • you have two ipads! im barely enjoying mine haha

  • 02:48 It would be much better if it gives a better audio quality.

  • You are obviously not a writer if you think that is a good keyboard or typing speed

  • Super amazing tool and all kids should get the opportunity to learn this way! Please check out BrainiApps for an amazing iPad Learning Program as well. BrainiApps on the web!!!

  • I am qettinq an ipad Very soon for school and I am wondering if 32 GB is enough to keep all my work on? I was also wonderinq what 3G does?

Soo! yeah can't wait to get one though!!

  • @EbonyMckenzie

I would recommend the 64GB, but I would also wait until the end of January because Apple will be announcing new iPads this month and they will likely increase the hard drive size and add a camera with a similar price. 3G allows you to connect to the internet over a cellular network which is great if you are not near a wifi connection.

  • @EbonyMckenzie i study business at university 6 subjects(video lectures, some audio recordings, notes, lecture slide handouts) + some movies I keep it all on my iPad32GB and i have more than enough space. My next one will be the smaller 16GB version. No need to spend money on space you don't need. Unless you're a film student or the like you should be fine. If you're worried you could go the 32GB but i wouldn't bother with the 64GB you can always use the cloud for that little bit extra.

  • I am going to be getting the iPad for law school and I have a question about the audio notes app. How close do you have to be in order for the microphone to pick up the notes? For example, I'm going to take the iPad into class with me. I was thinking about using the Audio Notes app to record my professor's lectures. Do I need to sit in the front of the class?

  • @Hughett07

It depends on the audio in the lecture hall. I have used it in lectures and it was working well but the rooms had good audio. I would likely sit near the front of the room to help this out and test it in the room you intend to use it.

  • Thanks for the review.

  • @nikkirosety

    Thanks!

    Stephen Phelan

  • this is way better then a netbook

  • Do you think the iPad would help in Dental School?

  • @asianmovement

Yes I think it would be great.

  • I was wondering how the audio quality is? I am in a huge lecture hall where most students usually record their recorders at the front, close to the some of the speakers! I don't know how well it would translate if I was sitting with my mike a fair distance away.

  • @jigsaw10111

I think you would have to try it out in your own environment but the quality has been good for me.

  • OMG! That is simply amazing!

  • @jigsaw10111

    Thanks

  • Thanks for the reviews -— not what I'd expect from a dentist :)

Also, the way you're using technology in your practice is innovative.

PS I got Note Taker HD and a Griffin stylus. I find handwriting is faster than typing. I don't have enough experience to do a review.

  • @riscario

Thanks, I will have to try that one out.

  • are you CANADIAN?! lol :)

  • @mangp

    Yes, I am Canadian!

  • @phelandentalseminars howw can u teell lol ha ha ha ha ha xxx

  • make a review for noterize

  • Great video. Are those two apps free? And also can you print the notes from the iPad?

  • Respond to this video...

  • @phelandentalseminars

Thanks for the comment. The apps are not free but the cost if fairly low, around $5.00.

I have printed the notes by emailing them to my Macbook Pro. I believe the new software for the iPad will allow you to print the notes but I have not tried it yet.
