Please be careful. My friend had a low risk pregnancy and at the very end her baby's heart stopped and by the time they got her to a hospital they baby had died. Check out her blog at baby''sin blogland.com Little Birdie. This gal looks like her hair hasn't seen a comb in a long time!
This is exactly the reason I am having an at home water birth. You nay sayers need to do research before you drag on the coat tails of others who have no idea what they are talking about. Being in a hospital when you are LOW RISK can be more dangerous (and usually is) then having a home birth. Good luck to all those who are striving for that genuienly serene birth surrounded by those who love you and may you find a midwife or doctor whom you love and will be there for you...

i know that I will be scared to have a home birth when I am pregnant. i have never had children and if something goes wrong I will blame myself for the rest of my life. It does look and sound like a great idea, but I would be too scared to do that at least the first time

so what the hell do you do when there are complications? call a dr? why the hell are they not at the dr in the first place? so what the hell do they actually do? really. tell you your doing a good job until a problem occurs? wtf. that makes about as much sense as one of those dog whisperers.
@thedongerknowsall If there are complications, the midwife handles it. They're highly trained. They're not at the doctor's in the first place because they choose not to be. Most likely, they've seen the research that shows that minimal interventions are healthiest for mom and baby in most cases.
it is best to stay at home when you are giving birth
