We met Mickey and Minnie last year at mickeys toontown fair and as opposed to other meet and greets where the time spent was dominated by the line waiting to snap a photo we were shown into a room where it was just us, minnie, mickey and some cast members. We then got to spend around three or four minutes with them. It was really great and in the photo everyone is beaming!
@carpediemi3aby i thought they were just trying that out a disneyland first? maybe checking for bugs and trying to make another one to send to WDW soon! hopefully (:
@NemoTVChampion Tony's is still open, the entrance has just changed a bit, all that is missing is little movie theatre that used to play silent cartoons in the back.
@FreddySpeedyPants It's for the best that Mickey's Toontown Fair leave. It wasn't meant to be permanent anyway.
And it was only a "country fair", whereas the California and Tokyo versions of Toontown (which, IMO, are better than the Toontown fair) actually represent the real Toontown, as it was in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit".
@FreddySpeedyPants same here. I practically grew up in there since my aunt gets free tickets so I've basically been going there since I was 3. Imma miss it :(
This is RIDICULOUS!! I love Mickey and Minnie as much as the next Disney child, but meeting the greatest Hollywood couple ever to be struck by Cupid's arrows shouldn't be a FASTPASS attraction! It should be something more special than that; a really spontaneous moment in the Parks!
@ztslovebird I agree. "Meet and greets" are a total waste of time. It makes it special to find Mickey and friends elsewhere in the park; at random. But I do understand that sometimes that can cause a "mouse sized" riot to go up to them. Still, characters as attractions is wierd to me.
@jtizzle1017 I disagree. They create meet-and-greet locations like this for a reason. It makes it easier for guests to find certain characters and be guaranteed such a thing, especially the EXTREMELY popular ones like Mickey and Minnie.
The Town Square Theater and most other character greeting facilities are not really "attractions" anyway, regardless of FastPass or no FastPass.
Random/spontaneous character appearances can't occur all the time, but they do still occur in the parks, though.
@jwbstudios The problem isn't the moving mouth or blinking eyes (although I LOVE the new/improved AA Character heads!); it's the voice. For the shows, Mickey's voice comes over the sound system as his mouth and eyes move in sync. But up close, there's no room in the head for the voice system. They probably ran into the same problem with Barney, the Gorgs, and anyone else with a puppet head.
Did this replace the Town Square Exposition Hall?

You need a fastpass now? GAWD.

Omg i watched this is 1911 ROFL.

They could use this for an adults/teens thing like a ''haunted house'' during Mickey's Not So scary halloween part. Honestly it is not a bad idea
*thumbs up*
