Great review, I'm glad you mentioned all of the child actors instead of just Isabelle Fuhrman. Great cast in all! The jump scares were annoying but I guess it comes with mainstream horror. Yes, I agree with the line at the end, it was not necessary at all. I had no idea it was completely ripped off from the Ring 2! Bastards! I thought Esther was adorable! I didn't find her creepy at all, I felt very sad for her in spite of everything.
DON'T READ IF HAVEN'T SEEN MOVIE I hated Ester so so badly. I wanted to just kill her from the get go. I hated the most that she got really mean to Max, she was so adorable and she was the only one who was really nice to Ester. Especially the part in the car or when she tries to shoot her at the end, it made me want to go and strangle that little ugly bitch. And how she tried to kill the boy who was just trying to protect his family, hate her. And I was really surprised she killed the dad.
Regarding the doctors not noticing she was 33, they only would have taken an x-ray of the arm, and I am pretty sure that the bones in the arm at 9 and as an adult have little difference. Also, the doctors really wouldn't be looking to see if she was really older, and even if they saw anything suspicious, they would probably disregard it. It was just a broken arm so it really would be needing an in depth check up.
the reason she was worried to go to the dentist is because it's easier to tell if ur 30 or 9 by ur teeth, if she was 9 she would still hav baby teeth, and in the end it showed tht she wore fake teeth anyway so they woulda just caught her then
@glamorou13 Personally, I don't think there could be a sequel. There is nothing really to expand on regarding the future. However; there is a great opportunity for a prequel. Esther's/Leena's past is so dark and full of pain, it would make a great movie.

I hated the twist ending sooo fucking much, it just completely took the creepiness away for me. I'm fine with twist endings but this twist was just so stupid that I genuinely laughed when they said it, mainly because of how serious they were trying to play it.
This movie is a rip off of the 1992 film The Hand That Rocks The Cradle, except that here the psycho is not a nanny but a nine year old kid. The part where Esther freaks out in the toilet while her "parents" are discussing about her with the child psychologist is a direct rip off of Rebecca de Mornay freaking out in the toilet, smashing things up. Copyright infringement, for sure.

I think that it was a great move too, but I totally agree about the closing the mirror thing. It's very much cliche, and in too many movies for my liking. I also agree about the husband sometimes not being as believable. It just irks me sometimes how the wife is the only one in all of the horror movies who sees things, and the husband is too stupid to notice. Besides that, it was a great movie.
Esther creeps the crap outta me but I love Isabelle Fuhrman now. She played the role perfectly, I don't think Esther would have been as creepy or well played if they chose another actress to play her.
I did not really think Esther was all that creepy. Except for that scene when the lightning strikes, and you see her standing over Maxine's bed. And I feel Sorry for Isabelle Fuhrman; Because if that scene where the mom slaps the heck out of her was real, and she actually did slap her, there was no cammera angles, then you know that girls face had to be so sore after that. Directers always want more and more takes, even if it was good. Ouch! There was actually two actors who played Esther.

Hey, I just finished watching this movie, I watched the first half of your video and then I was tempted to watch the spoilers. But I resisted and came back to see them. And I completely agree with you on everything. I mean, why does the class need a bitch when they are like, 9-10 years old?
Before watching this movie, I was on facebook and said "Horror movies = not scary.". I have seen quite a few horror movies, "The Ring" 1 & 2, and others. But this was really, shit-a-brick worthy horror movie.

It just irks me sometimes how the wife is the only one in all of the horror movies who sees things, and the husband is too stupid to notice. Besides that, it was a great movie.

Esther creeps the crap outta me but I love Isabelle Fuhrman now. She played the role perfectly, I don't think Esther would have been as creepy or well played if they chose another actress to play her.

I did not really think Esther was all that creepy. Except for that scene when the lightning strikes, and you see her standing over Maxine's bed. And I feel Sorry for Isabelle Fuhrman; Because if that scene where the mom slaps the heck out of her was real, and she actually did slap her, there was no cammera angles, then you know that girls face had to be so sore after that. Directers always want more and more takes, even if it was good. Ouch! There was actually two actors who played Esther.

i actually loved this movie, was really creepy, ester was creepy as hell, and that twist of her being an adult was a crazy twist, i didn't see it coming

i really really loved the movie. esther was really creepy and i think thats why i loved her so much. my favourite scene was while daniel was in the hospital and after esther suffocated him, the mother's all "what did you do to him you bitch!" and then bitchslaps the fuck out of her. i crack up everytime i see it, its just so awesome.

i saw part of the movie...i started watching it in the middle but my sister told me wut it was about anyways, but i thought it was really well done, and esther is soo cruel, i wouldnt say creepy. but then i watched an interview of her and she is really really nice.

Hey, I just finished watching this movie, I watched the first half of your video and then I was tempted to watch the spoilers. But I resisted and came back to see them. And I completely agree with you on everything. I mean, why does the class need a bitch when they are like, 9-10 years old?
Before watching this movie, I was on facebook and said "Horror movies = not scary.". I have seen quite a few horror movies, "The Ring" 1 & 2, and others. But this was really, shit-a-brick worthy horror movie.

i loved the part when Esther gave the mom the flowers from the dead babies garden and then the mom grabbed her arm and then later, Esther put her arm in that squeezing thing to make it look like she the mom broke Esther's arm!

This movie was great its just that they took out tons of scenes like that woman at the playground and their were so many inside puns like she didnt go to the dentist cause her teeth were fucked up thirty three years old. But I love isabelle fuhrman I watch this movie ten times a week it never gets old.

Okay, the "F***ing mommy"-line is a little cheesy, but the kick was just great.

Bitch had it coming xD That's just what the Audience wants to do to her all Film long :P
Also as a Filmmaker i think you got to have some huge-ass balls to give a child-murder so much violence... doesn't matter if it's self defense

she didnt go to the dentist cuz she had a tooth cover or sumthin and the dentist would hav found it and the parents would hav known that that much tooth damage wouldnt come from only 9 years of not brushing ur teeth. i thought it was a great movie and the ending was very unpredictable

i totally agree with u wen u talk bout the cliche cause i think the first time the mom took her pills haunting music started to play and notin happened. i was expecting it and the second time it happened i was like damn. it was goin so good then they throw a cliche.other than that i thought that it was a great movie, max was awesome for actually being deaf, isabelle was really good and i expect to see more of her as the years go by.

I agree, the children were excellent. I though Esther was very creepy and just gave you a weird scary feeling every time she was in a scene. I do agree that the line at the end was so stupid... but it did complete it! Good review! :)

love it!!!! amazing! but it was stupid when the son climbs higher on the treehouse when it was on fire. Overall though my favorite part was when she pushed that B**** of the playground. She deserved it
