Why is it that all (?) of Europe, India (yes, they have a strong voting system), Japan and even Taiwan have fool-proof voting systems but the US does not?
How ironic for the machines to break down on the day of the election when there was more time then enough to have them working well to operate during the day of the election it didn't just happen in VA some places here in New York City as well but i am so glad that they evil plots and ways didn't work Obama 08a change is going to come very emotional and historical moment indeed
the problem is not the voting machine or the ballot boxes, but the CANDIDATES!
Obama is of course not an option (or should never had been, now it's too late) but neither is Bush or McCain. the whole system is wrong.
the PEOPLE should run a democracy, not political parties. power should be broken down to the lower levels, to be more realistic and "down to earth". let the citizens of a neighborhood run their neighborhood affairs, without interference from government intruders!
Very funny. Last time voting machines (or better: the whole voting system) was broken the republicans profited from it. Not a single replican would've admitted that there went something wrong. But now that democrats legally won with a earthslide, it is all because of the same (imho stupid) voting mechanismns and machines that where totally fine just four years ago?
Seriously though, Bush won by like 1% and lost the race in 2000 (we're talking pop vote here). Obama won this one by 7% and climbing (not everything on the west coast is in yet).
stop blaming the machines for McCain losing you petty little man. Not every state had voting machines nor did every state have just voting machines. Some had both. Not many voting machines were actually used this year. So get over your petty differences & deal with the fact that McCain lost the election to the better man
And...Obama won...thanks bill gates for all your lovely software. im more of a windows type of guy but i bet you as much as i have(not much) lol that majority of those votes whether computer or not. were prolly counted wrong. For all you people that read this. set aside 1 hour and look on youtube at all the errors and mishaps that have happened all day long with majority of the voting machines used and the people running them. If we can't reley on that. then what can we rely on.
Wow... How much of our money was spent on campaigning? Shoulda set some coin aside for REDUNDANT voting machines, or maybe ones that don't run on Windows.
I have the best solution. Get everyone into a massive stadium, get the candidates on the stage and have them call out one candidates name and have the people raise their hand to vote for that person. Then repeat. Then after that throw out those tallies b/c someone raised their hand twice. Where does that put us. In a better spot than we are in now lol
u cant even give your vote straight to president.. u have to vote some election guys who can vote who ever they want... :S And that is what u guys call "democracy" ?
By 7:30 this morning, channel 10 news (I believe it was 10, maybe 13) was reporting that they had received more than a dozen calls complaining about voting probs.

00:01 "tell me your name" - - American barbarians. It should be "tell me your name, PLEASE". In Europe that would be impossible.
beutelkompost 3 years ago
why?
Siyko 3 years ago
Please aint important when asking about names. Perhaps the brits think so, but they're too stuffy.
retardno123 3 years ago
Oh shut up! Quit with the anti-American crap. It's getting old! In Europe, you'd never elect a man from African decent either!
LunarTuner 3 years ago
thats because theres less men of african decent there, and i wouldnt be surprised if they have elected a minority in one of the countries

How come its a "landslide when Obama gets 52% of the vote, but not when Bush got 50%?

I believe the term landslide was referring to Obama's electoral votes.
