To be honest I have not done enough research to make a decision on that yet. I will probably lean towards the Green party since they most match my political points of view. I do know that I am tired of this pointless squabbling between the two parties on subjects that don't really matter to real Americans. The fact is that never side really cares. Obama has proven that when he said he would do away with NAFTA, and he would not put lobbyist in his cabinet, and failed to do so.

I live right next to it and have family who live in Old Forge, so I am familiar with the area. Hoffman did not even live in the district, which is a huge issue for that region. Also, national figures in that area are not well received. LiveralViewer is an idiot and did not consider any of those facts. Not to mention that Hoffman had the charisma of a rock. It is also curious to see that 11,000 absentee ballots are not being mentioned, they are from Ft Drum so they are probably for Hoffman.

At about 5:30 you get Bob McDonnell wrong. He ran as a moderate pragmatist. His opponent Deeds tried to cast BM as a conservative, but BM kept returning to issues like transportation and job creation. BM won because he ran a positive & inclusive campaign.
You're arguments that the NY election is irrelevant, while NJ and VA are relevant, doesn't make any sense. Either they all matter, or none of them matter.

It's not even a major election people. I think their our lessons to be learned all around, but at the end of the day it was only a 2 races that went to the GOP and 1 House seat that seems to be going Democratic. This is just a prequel for 2010 and it didn't help the Dems that Corzine was mostly known for being an accident that was his fault. He was not a liked man by even the Democrats. The only two things to take from this is will the lack of Dem turnout repeat in 2010. continued.

As I told other Democrats, winning and getting in office is the easy part. And as far the GOP is concerned, it would interesting to see if the urging of so-called "RINOs" and pushing the party further right will work. I'm highly skeptical as it may work for the base, but you ultimately have to win the middle vote. And if you're to run as staunch conservatives, make sure to not have a repeat of the Republicans during the Bush era. If were not for them, I'd probably still be with the GOP.
Using Liberlviewer's logic, the Democrat party is not very successful because their candidates are not doing a very good job representing the people in my part of the country.

I'm actually surprised by this comment. I was expected much , much more. I'm just glad I left the party just in time so I didn't have to see it slit it's collective throat over and over again. I'm actually surprised by this comment. I was expected much , much more. I'm just glad I left the party just in time so I didn't have to see it slit it's collective throat over and over again. By the by, you may want to tell the GOP leadership in the House that when holding up a copy of the constitution in front of the crowd, it might be wise to actually read it. I can't understand why anyone cares what letter came after the person who won. I vote on issues, not Ds or Rs. Simply backing a party is a formula for disaster if you actually CARE about the country and our future. The R's and D's have been fucking things up for too long and I am praying for a libertarian swing no matter what party they run as. In Virginia, the Democrats had won the last two races for governor, earned two U.S. Senate seats and gained control of the state Senate and Obama won - a Republican won by a wide margin. roman, not only that, but the past two governors of Virginia who were Democrats only got 52% of the vote, McDonnel got 59% which bodes ill for House Virginians next fall, as well as other House Democrats in red and swing states. The Democrats are desperate and grasping for any crumb they can, so a three-way race in upstate NY that they won by 3 over a third party candidate is their great win for 2009. Them ignoring their woes is fine though, the climate could be even worse for them in 2010.

I was working for Owens during the NY 23 race, and I can tell you that the only reason Hoffman didn't win was because of Scozzafava.
Hoffman was leading vs Owens in independents and moderates up to the day of the election.
