@Monovia1 Only around 10 actually live there, the remaining 20 are usually tourists that either stay for the night, or to work. It's not a serious thing. It has no real border. The only reason it was started was because the Australian Government were trying to put in a limit to how many tonnes of grain you can grow. So HRP became separate to Australia. The limit never got introduced thank god! I live 30 kms from HRP, near the town of Northampton.
The location in question in this video attempted to separate from WA, and Australia due to Government legislation at the time with Wheat Quotas. Over time they have enjoyed the tax free money they receive from their various small scale industries.
I dont think they should pay taxes however subject to several points.
1.) they receive no health care from the Government
2.) They receive no policing from WA and Federal Police.
3.) THey receive no assistance from the fire service.
I always planned to go, but hey i think i might give it a miss lol how do they pay for supplies? In their currency or Aussie dollars? have they got a pub, servo, shop etc? any people live there?
Well it's somewhere in the no wheres of Australia - if you are somewhere in the no wheres in Europe you will still people but not Australia or Nevada for example :D
you know the 30 people who live there? are they all the Princes family or can people actually immigrate?

There is no Pub,Servo, however there is a souvenir shop , post office and a chapel
There would be about 30 people living there
and their main income is from tourists.
You buy the HRP dollars from the post office

Not an awful lot going on there, is there?
Not a single human being in sight!
Still, I have a lot of respect for people who dare to stand upright, like Prince Leonard has done in his very peculiar way for several decades.
HAM radio callsign for HRP? Must be an unofficial one, I suppose?
