@Millertalon its when you put a pickle on your air filter. the engine backfires like crazy until all the pickle juice burns off...the pickle juice is extremely flammable too...and it'll get you high if you inhale the vapors after its burnt in the cold air exhaust chamber. so high youll be 2 steppin...and thats where it gets its name

@Millertalon It's an engine management thing. It lets the timing retard enough so that the explosion goes out the exhaust to spool the turbo. You need software to do this, usually it's expensive.

A 2 step is a rev limiter, used as a launch control. You can set the RPMs that you want to launch at to build boost and to have a controlled launch with as much boost and least tire spin as possible.

2 step adds a second rev limiter for launching. This seems more like a anti-lag system that causes igniton to fire after top dead center and causes after burn in the turbo to spool it up, this is what creates the backfire and flames.

naw.. 2-step is a lauch control that is mainly used for the 1/4 mile. u set it for a lower limit than ur rev limiter and floor it and it will act lik a rev limiter at a low rpm. this allows ur turbo to spool up as much as possible and helps you launch. it basically eliminates turbo lag from ur launch..
