@Th3Dav33dSh0w that's pretty sad you're comparing live to album...so sad...no respect...and quit with the "thumbs up if" ...that shit is sooooooooooo old
@MorningView4 My dad had some shrooms just before leaving the hotel to go and see this very show... said it was the most amazing experience he'd ever had!
Pink Floyd's music is not played or listened to, it is felt. I discovered this when I was 10 years old and stole 'The Wall' from my older sister's room. 30 years later and I am still feeling it. Can't say that about too many bands.
God I just love how it transitions into "Brain Damage".
Pink Floyd managed to make the perfect album ever.
I don't give a fuck what anyone says, PF is the best band ever formed, no other band will ever do what they did to music. I pray that someone will come along, but these basterds were just tooo good.
All band band members compliment each so perfectly, and they fuckin write dreams or drug induced highs or whatever you wanna call it. RIP Rick. Long Live Pink Floyd
@Teutonic1250 I'm not entirely sure. I use Uni Vibe, Compression, Delay, and Chorus. You could also use some kind of harmonizer. That kind of mixes with the Chorus and gives it that 'wet' tone.
This is one of those songs where the absence of Roger's bass really makes a difference. The guy filling in is a good technical bassplayer, but this song is really a product of the styles of all four guys, especially the bass. Great performance, though.
does anybody know anythign about their tour in australia in may of this year. i wanna buy some tickets but i cant find much information on whos actually gonna be singing and shit because david gilmour is getting mad old so i dont know if he can even stil sing. and wright is gone now. so can anybody help me out?
When I play this I use both a chorus and a flanger effect at once with quite some speed on it. It's not exactly the same as on the album, but for playing along the Live version it actually sounds quite like the real deal.
agreed tremolos sound more square wave , univibes have that pulsating throb to the sound (wow doesnt that sound perverted ) haha but yeah if youve got both you know what i mean. a phase 90 on max speed does a pretty good job too but because its OP amp based not an optocell it doesnt have that univibe doppler effect.
cant have been a flanger on the album version because bucket brigade chips werent invented then and david didnt use the electric mistress flanger untill animals and the wall , the dsotm version used a maestro rotating speaker most probably set on fast to give a leslie effect , and i suspect due to the throbbing in the tone he had his univibe which he used set at a similar speed. but as for this version well daves pulse board was HUGE who knows what he used .
i love the original bass part written by waters, in the original version of 1973, it's simple but great. This bass is also brilliant but more elaborate than waters'.
Regarding Gilmour's guitar and the album: apart from the Uni-Vibe and his Fuzz Face, he probably also used a Hi-Fli guitar processing unit for an aut-wah and treble booster effect. He had this same processor with him for the Earls Court shows in May 1973 but I'm not aware of what exactly he used it for then.
Thumbs up if Pink Floyd is better live because David Gilmour is a god jamming out on the guitar

Well, there's keyboard done tastefully and then there's obnoxious cheesy keyboard. Rick Wright provided us with the former.

i use a crunchy tone, compression, and uni-vibe. not to mention a touch or reverb and some delay.
and i use the neck and middle pick up with the tone half to all the way down.
i'm happy with the sound i have.

What effect does Gilmour use on his guitar solo here? Is it just light distortion and delay?

On Dark Side of the Moon Gilmour uses a Uni-Vibe pedal, but this doesn't sound like it. Could be a leslie speaker.
