SPAWN! I always loved Spawn. Still my all time favorite comic book character. I love Mc Farlane. He created magic with this character back in 1992. Still the coolest in my book. Too bad Al Simmons Spawn is no more.

@KadSkirata Yeah, I talked to a representative at McFarlane's shop in AZ. Word was the real AL Simmons (Todd's former friend) and Todd himself ,had a legal disagreement over the usage of the name "Al Simmons". Things didn't work out and Todd basically killed Al Simmons off permanently.

Now he focuses on his new comic character, Haunt.

I think there will always be a Spawn book, but not based on Al SImmons. Which sucks. I love Al Simmons. He was a bad ass. ;)

I will never fucking understand how Chapel in the early 90's could ever have been considered a superhero.

He's not even a brutal hero like the Punisher, or a driven hero like Daredevil or Batman: he is repeatedly in comics stated to be a homicidal lunatic with guns and a knives and no other powers.

To my thinking, that makes him a dangerous psychopathic menace to society, NOT a superhero, government-trained or not.

Even Spawn has morals, just very, very harsh ones.

I agree with you, anime now a days just sucks. The only kind of anime with original concepts and most interesting ones are the hentai ones, because no "otaku" would watch it because it's too extreme for them. I watch it because it's fucking funny, and it's hilarious to me on how the voice actors are so deep into character. lol

Todd Mcfarlane's work is just pure genius, i love animations like these, they should bring this style back. Starting with Aeon Flux.

@lusteraliaszero Sorry but this American cartoon is in a realm in it's own. I say it's realistic graphic value surpasses anime's once thought of gruesomeness. However, i appreciate anime and watch a bunch of collections such as Berserk, etc etc. also the one guy who said Hellsing alucard is better than Spawn, thats bullshit he's not as cool as Spawn and his abilities don't make sense for a vampire, nonetheless I still enjoy the anime.

Search for a vid called "Interview of Todd McFarlane". It should be the first one in the search.

But if you watch it on Youtube you will hear Todd McFarlane talk about how they sent their work to Japan to let them animate it from around 4:00 in that vid.

Be sure to watch the whole vid though, because I could have said the wrong time.

Also, if you have the DVDs, check the credits. There are japanese names in the credits.

I always felt more sorry for Wanda than AL. Especially with scenes like 8:45-9:38. She still loves and misses AL so much. No women should have to go through that kind of pain (:(). Its also really good writing the way they show scenes like this only every so often. Giving the illusion that she has moved on, but showing brief scenes like that showing AL still has a piece(maybe even a bigger piece than Terry)of her heart.
