This horse has a fairly pronounced toe-first landing. I would find a good barefoot trimmer and get that addressed. It puts him at high-risk for developing navicular. I'm guessing he trips a lot (even on flat ground) and prefers grass to asphalt?
@Nana00512 You don't actually whip a horse while lunging...If you look, it lands a good distance away, causing the horse to change directions. Thus, the horse is lunging ^_~
@bballg123 not all horses buck when they lunge, my horse and i do the lunge line and she is very good at her trotting and walking and cantering... no problems
YES! He IS gaited. He does many different gaits. His favorite is the hard pace LOL! Been working with him over this past year- and he's really doing well. He has a very strange attempt at a canter- I'll try to get that up for you. Very funny to watch.
what do you guys use for your video editing like slow mo? i use windows movie maker but thats crappy when it comes to slow mo,i want it fluent not stopping
You are so welcome Dyingtodeath...I'll have more as soon as it warms up a bit. I love watching a horse move, and the detail this camera captures is amazing! We can even see the muscles rippling! FYI Harley is doing at least 4 different gaits in this video (one reason I filmed it was to see). Experts can tell you what they are and where. Happy Creating to you!
I've been searching for a good walk and trot cycle for animation and painting study, and am glad I finally found you. Like an oasis. I'm addicted now. It's the most sublime form of poetry. No words equal this. Thank you, and Harley.
Thank you to J for her comment. There is never a good reason to let a perfectly good rope drag around on the ground. NO EXCUSES...never let a rope drag like that, it's dangerous.
what breed is he?i have 4 twh and the 8 year old mare dos the same things

Dislike! 1. The horse is sore (watch his head drop every other step).... 2. he needs to learn to lunge properly 3. the girl needs to learn to lunge!
