Bucketheads mother is alive and well. She is still with his father who by the way is the athletic director at Damien High School in La Verne, CA. There is an interview with his father about his family that was given when the athletic field was named after him. His moms name is Nancy.
Buckethead and Chuck Norris met in space and had the most epic battle in the history of the universe when they collided it made the most monstrous explosion ever scientists now call this event the big bang
@vrem hey man everybody has their own opinions about emotional songs.. so if you don't like this one don't friggin listen to it. or better yet don't give me advice on musicality because most people these days are versed in as wide a range of music as "my shoe."
@deathgift07 sorry. i wrote that comment when i was drunk trying to make people angry. i love buckethead, and his songs are emotional. especially his album COLMA. that is all
What the fuck is emotional playing anyway? Playing that evokes emotion in the listener? If that is true, then emotional playing cannot be defined or categorized. We do not all have the same emotions or reactions, therefore emotional playing is different for all of us. It seems like many people lose sight of this and think anything played fast is "played without emotion." To me buckethead's playing, even his faster playing, is emotional and just all around good music for the mind and soul.
I was playing Modern Warfare while listening to Buckethead, and then i decided to focus on the more interesting of the two. Even without words, his music is captivating. It's like it's a language to him.
in my school on the last day,we were aloud 1 song each to put on in class and this was my choice and every one was silent till the end even the justin beber fans!
Buckethead is my hero... this is the first time music messes with me in such a deep way. I almost cried when i heard this for the first time, this man truly is the best guitar player in my opinion.
I am kind of crying, i am sad, and fucked over by a girl i love, and this song just is so deep, without even saying a word.Bucket head.... you are a god to me. Thank you
i second Souldza...i've been through what u went through more than once, and i'm still with the same girl. adding to that, my life is not really going the way i wanted it tovgo. i learned that u just gotta push through the hardships that life may give you and enjoy the simple things in life. Next time u feel down, just listen to this or electric tears...it'll definitely put you at ease
@ScrewAttackChina Obama supporters will find out he is using the working class against their will, but then it will be too late to reverse Obama's Progressive Socialist legislation. Sad exploitation of people of people who actually believed in Obama's hope and change.
Does the beginning of the song have the fuzz effect on? Cause thats what I thought, but then some guy said it was distortion...doesnt really sound like it.
his aunt used to call him soothsayer then he made soothsayer for her and she loved it so much that when she died he wrote sail on soothsayer so she would like live on in his music
soothsayer, sail on soothsayer, and the song Aunt Suzie were all for his aunt Suzie as stated by Buckethead. So not sure why its so hard for you to understand.
As for the meaning I couldn't tell you but I'm guessing he is expressing his deep feelings for his aunt... Just a hunch tho. lol
First time i started to cry by a song was by this song and after that i have started to cry almost every time i hear a buckethead song who is so emotional like this are
J78Kio, he made an entire album for his mother when she wuz dying of cancer (im pretty sure it wuz cancer), his relatives mean the werld 2 him, hes amazing, most people wud say hes some freak in a bucket, but those people are stupid, God Bless Buckethead, greatest musician to grace this planet
its sad that this amazing guitarist isnt well known, (dont flip on me i know hes well known and all but not really at the same time)he really has amazing songs that other guitarists would envy to be able to create
I lie in my bed and listen to this song and just imagine that Im on the sea on a sailboat and drift away from all the problems. I know this is a song for his dead aunt or granny (sorry dunno) but thats what I imagine and its very calming. :)
I hate how everyone argues about "Who is the best guitarist". Guitarists are like colors, everyone has their favorite and least favorite, but that doesn't mean you have to ridicule them.
@Alucard007331 True, but i dont think that there can be any denying that at the very least, talent-wise, Buckethead is the greatest. He can play faster than almost anyone, sweep, tap with 8 fingers, play 64th notes like cake, do all sorts of pinch harmonics, bends and vibratos, and really anything at all. Hes got more speed and technicality in his playing than any other 2 guitarists combined. Ik its all preference, but if there can be a "best", it's Buckethead.

@Jordantm0 I got fucked over by 2 girls just recently, You can always count on a woman to sneak around on
you or stab you in the back eventually, Than when they drop you for another guy they'll make up some
bullshit reason why It's your fault they left when really all it is..is that they just aren't interested in you anymore
and want somebody new. If you wanna get on top of the game, just be like the Jersey Shore guys and use them and leave em before they do it to you.

@SlimSh8E Electric tears is a full guitar album, this would be much more suited to be on colma, because of the melodical relevance. :D
