instead of the Seattle Police Department calming their horses down, Why don't they just treat there Animals the same way they treat it's citizens?.... put 4 bullets in the fucking thing for just being a city pedestrian, then muster up some pathetic story about how the officer had probable cause because, quote: " the horse appeared to be lunging at him" 2 years of tax paid court fees and call it good.
ie..... you have a better chance as a horse to not get shot in Seattle
I know this horse and the police officer that rides him. This horse has also done fire training and if you were to see him today he wouldn't be like that. He was in training mode when that video was taken.
My trainer is also a mounted patrol officer and her best patrol horse will pull the same stunt every once in a blue moon. With all of their training, I'm betting it's the best way they can get away with burning up some excess energy. Better than a full blown bucking or rearing episode. This is more playful than grouchy or unhappy. :)
I've known most of the SPD horses over the years... he's not spooking or "scared", he's just wound up because of some reason or another, I seem to remember this horse being somewhat herd bound so he's probably just fussy b/c the other horses aren't near. Common. These horses are trained to not spook when an officer shoots his gun off its back. They have their off days/moods too just like humans.
horses and cops just don't mix.
