  • where is this

  • magnetorheological fluid is a liquid that changes it's viscosity in contact with a magnetic field, imagine a thin oily liquid turning into thick "pudding" instantly in a magnetic field. It is used in dynamic suspension systems as if it is used as the damping fluid, changing the viscosity changes the nature of the shock. Ferrofluid is pretty much just iron particles in oil, when in contact with a magnetic field, the particles line up and attract other particles , but viscosity does not change

  • what is the diffireties between them

  • ferrofluid*

  • is that a magnetorheological fluid or ferrofluid?

  • That's a ferrofluid, not an MR fluid.

  • They say it's MR.

  • Yeah, and the comment says it's a ferrofluid. They get mixed up a lot, but as far as I can tell ferrofluids are more liquid (like this one), while MR fluids are more like paste.
