I too have recently encountered glitches more frequently at the site I have been flying on for over a year! I lost my HC-Hobby Eurofighter due to serious glitch recently, luckily I have another one on the way. Possible error due to radio propagation near trees?
FM radio glitch at low altitude got me. Since then we've had lots of glitching at that field. That plane was running a 4500kv outrunner on an Alfa 5 blade fan and a 3 cell lipo.
Believe it or not, that plane is back in one piece now ;)
I suggest switching to 2.4GHz. I did, and haven't had a glitch since (4 years and counting).

Did ya clip something, or was it a structural failure? Looked pretty fast, what power were you using in it, 3 cell?
