exactly such players give the trombone the reputation of an unflexible, static instrument... i don't say that i could do it better but it's a pretty difficult piece and i wouldn't post vids of me playing such pieces if i can't play them!

i had seen trombonists play harder songs faster and more exact. listening to this perfomance makes me think of a chewing gum which is stuck in the trombone to make it a litle limping.

I know this piece is difficult on violin, so it would be no different on any other instrument, especially since trombone isn't concert pitch.

Why are people saying this is bad? I have listened to world-class trombonists like Trudel, Lindberg, Alessi, or whatever, but I think he actually did a decent job (a few notes out the wazoo here and there but hey, we all are humans!)

I neither like his techniques, nor his accuracy or his tone...the beginning of the piece is the worst of it...only after 2.40 when it gets faster he hushes thorugh the tones it's not so obvious

Not a bad player, but yeah, the sound isn't very good. Maybe partly the recording equipment. He doesn't play "effortlessly" like Alessi, Lindberg, Trudel, or someone like that would. He makes it look like he's at the edge of his abilities and working hard rather than having total fun with it because it's "easy."
