oh my, japanese monster movies. So bad they're terrific. I never knew if they were deliberately filmed that way or not, but they're so funny to watch, and even funnier when contrasted with such Japanese movies as the famous Kurosawa's Seven Samurai. I think I missed this Gamera flick as a child though; I don't remember one of these with American and Japanese friends for the child protagonists. Nice to see, as much fun as Rocket Ship Turtle winning the battle again. Hurrah!
This fantastic flying turtle was one of my first superheroes way back when; he still is too. Whenever I see any movies involving this majestic SuperMonster, I tear up, and begin to cry for joy!! He's a protector, not only of all the Earth; but, especially, the children. All the children. He helps protect them; defeats the bullies; and destroys all the bad guys. I will always think of Gamera as a champion of those who can't fight for themselves. He comes to the rescue in the nick of time.
