fk hell on earth iodine 131 actually causes thyroid cancer what and how on earth can giving a patient a know carcinogenic actually cure anything. Thats like saying hey you have a gum infection smoke more cigarettes lol. Does anyone know where the scientific paper on this process is for reading up on as this sounds so very very wrong

Just out of interest, Does anyone know why how the pill can treat thyroid cancer if its in the neck but the pill goes to your stomach when swallowed????????

Because thyroid tissue is extremely sensitive to iodine- it absorbs it all. That is why we have iodized salt- to give us iodine- which helps us regulate our metabolism. Our thyroid uses iodine. They give us radioactive iodine so that when it is absorbed by whatever thyroid tissue is left, the tissue will be given a heavy dose of radiation, which will kill the thyroid tissue and nothing else (because the surrounding tissues don't absorb the iodine).

iodine 131 therapy is the most effective treatment available to dat for thyroid cancer. i am a nuclear medicine technologist and am highly informed about this process.

There is always another way. Its up to you to find it.

For thyroid carcinoma your options are limited. Most treatments consist of the following, usually in combination: surgical excision of cancerous tissue, external beam radiotherapy, radioiodine ablative therapy as shown in this video. Patients should not be dissuaded from what is a very successful, well tolerated, treatment modality. The video is quite good and fairly representative of this type of treatment.

yes but you don't mention how the cancer (caused by the radioactive pill) returns and is immune to futher radiation treatment..and then spreads..and kills the patient a year or two later.
