  • I have to say I found the Dark Knight to be rather entertaining, but I definitely like your analysis.Really makes people think

  • i hated the dark knight as well. The plot was messed up. the acting was fantastic, but the plot was messed up. not everything followed up from the first

    one bb.

  • I ask because, in Begins, The League of Shadows is, by definition, a terrorist organization. Their plan was to strike fear/terror into the hearts of the citizens of Gotham.

  • Do you mean that you don't believe in the concept of terrorism as it is used in our age as a catch-all for groups that governments don't agree with on ideological grounds? Or are you saying that you don't believe in groups which commit acts geared towards invoking terror?

  • @TrashHeapHedonist - The difference between "terrorist organization" and "our brave men and women in uniform" is just who has more money, and which "side" the combatants are fighting for

  • As a side note, I am surprised that you didn't mention that Bruce was primarily trained by the League of Shadows, a terrorist organization in Begins.

  • @TrashHeapHedonist - I don't believe in terrorists.

  • @johntheother

    You don't believe in terrorists?

  • @TrashHeapHedonist - correct.

  • You didn't like Batman Begins because Bruce lost his temper? I can't recall more than maybe one instance of him losing his temper in Begins, but you have to remember, this is Batman BEGINS. This isn't the seasoned Batman from the comics.

  • That's really good. This made me wonder, is the joker chaotic good as opposed to chaotic evil? Under this new light, I'd say he's probably more chaotic neutral.

  • A clever way to get your message across, John. Good stuff!

  • @johntheother Q: So are women equal or special? A: Yes LOL! How does that weapon of faulty logic feel in your hand? Gotta love it.

  • That's exactly how I felt watching this movie. The Joker was the hero to me, a creature of pure, honest id. Everybody else compromised their beliefs for the sake of protecting the public from the painful truth. I really hope that the third and final installment in the series completes the character arc of the Batman. I wonder if Nolan has the courage to kill the Batman...

  • So did you hate it or love it? You said both.

  • I kind of agree. I say "kind of ," because the character itself (which you pick up on) shows how batman, in the movie, is actually too one-sided; i.e., so one-sided that in thinking he is doing good (because he has split himself into extreme opposites) he is unaware of how his "good" is actually not-so good; and the Joker actually compensates him for this. But, you know, few people, I think, will actually see it from this angle, because it exposes a deeper issue in the culture itself.

  • Thought-provoking video

  • Obviously all mainstream media and Hollywood films contain sickening moral messages, misrepresentations of reality and evil propaganda in general. However this can be used to our advantage

If someone doubts that there is something amiss in the world don't direct them to people in the know. Instead tell them to look at the mainstream media; but this time with their eyes open

Tell them to look at what is being said about morality & reality, with emphasis on Gender, Race, Climate, Conspiracy + J

  • You know what also sucked? The fairy-tale ending with the two boats. In real life, both people in both crowds would be fighting for a chance to push the button. Instead, they both nobly sacrifice themselves to the prospect of getting blown to smithereens.

WTF, I thought I was watching Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight, not Walt Disney's Dark Knight.

  • @sigmaK9 Well, when I saw thyat part of the movie, I KNEW the criminals would be the noble ones, but I THOUGHT that the solid citizens would be the ones to push the button. (Of course I thought the Joker was lying and that the detonators provided to each boat would trigger the explosions on their OWN boats, not the OTHER'S.) But when the solid citizens refused to push the button either, I was (I admit) surprised.

  • This was brilliant. I have often thought a good way of increasing awareness of the MRA and its philosophy is for its speakers to diversify the medium through which the message is told. I don't mean just internet and radio. I mean delving into things like reviews, which are normally reserved for entertainment. Potential MRAs are more likely to stumble across something like this than they are one of manwomanmyth's vids. Thank you John. I appreciate your diversity.

  • Badmen... where are the good men?

  • I saw Brilliant Lies (bad people opposing each other) and The Rock (good people opposing each other) in the same week many years ago. I frequently see different people as 'the good guy' in films than I suspect the director intended.

Like the Serpent in Genesis seems to be the only one not telling lies about the 'apple'.

Great review. I'd love to see more of them.

  • Yes, it appears that the platonic categories defining individuals (criminal, mayor) changes the value ascribed to them by those who believe in this hierarchy. These abstractions bear little to no relation to the reality of individuals and the choices individuals make. Any 'ethical' action according to this system appears to be alien (hetoronomous) to an individual and would usually end in 'altruistic' self-destruction.

  • You are a fine man and a great MRA but you do not understand anything about politics in the United States. You are my ally. There's no point in addressing this further, but i'll continue to put forth political arguments on my channel.

  • @pinegrove33 there is no reason for political divisionism between MRM activists.

Speaking about USA politics, i support only the neocons... because they are realists

  • We as men, whether alpha, beta, omega, zeta, we have to make difficult decisions in life whether it is work related or personal. I believe that the more responsibility you have the harder the decisions become and the greater chance your decisions may affect other human beings. This is why I choose not to advance in my career. I have seen unethical business practices from my leaders before and I choose not to advance because I don't want to be like them. Does this make me a coward?

  • That's a thought provoking question, indeed. One that I wish I could answer so easily. It would seem that we are. Perhaps we are intended to believe in lies to reduce a majority of nervous breakdowns and panic if we learn that the opposite of what we are intended to believe is true.

  • typed not read

  • I stuggled with that question for the better part of my thirties.conclusion As men,or the alfa of the alfa of our household difficult decisions have to be made because ultimately it is us who will be held accountable for the outcome. to curcumvent dissention in the fold lies maybe told. which at the time I would think it was for the greater good but if revealed compounds the problem. I'm not a holy than thou type, but the truth works if for no other reason but nurture already existing loyalty.
