@BradPittVEVO Adobe Acrobat Reader or Powertab. If you just want to look at them, upgrade your browser to the latest version, which will have an Acrobat Reader plugin, you'll be able to click on the link and see it in your browser (and save it if you like). The Powertab version is more versatile (for example you can get your computer to play the song) but more complicated.

Hey started this bad boy WAY eaiser than braindamage which chewed up about a three weeks of my life I think I like this a little better, more my stlye, mellow. You got it - depends on your style as to whether this is easier. A travis picker/classical player will eat up Brain Damage, but mellower relaxer naturals like us will find the fingerpick cross rhythm style of this one the ticket. Check my channel, go to my blog, go back a couple of entries - I did everything I've done on Dark Side of the Moon to date in an audio file. I've changed all my songs since posting them on youtube, I think you will appreciate the differences.

It's obviously a work in progress, and it's not something I work on every day - it just sits there in the background and every few months I'll work on another bit of it. Ha, funnily enough I *am* working through doing DSOTM as fingerstyle, I'm 3 songs finished, 2 songs on their way, the rest not quite started. However I've been working on it for over 10 years, I expect it will be another 10 years before I'm done ;)

Although about 6 months ago another guy took on some of the work, so it might be down to 5 years to go...

Yep, I am usually nervous when I play for the camera. I'm getting better though. All the videos I post here are usually 20% faster than I play them in real life...

I'm going to do some public performances next year so hopefully that will take the edge of anxiety and slooow me down ;)

So I've pretty much memorized Breathe by now, now all I have to do is perfect it! Took me quite a while. I'm trying to find some more fingerstyle songs to play but I can't seem to find any good ones (for a beginner). Any suggestions?

Heh, on this side of the planet we're heading for winter. Next stop try out Here Comes the Sun, it's actually easier than it looks. To really get your brain scrambled - and learn thumb independence (highly recommended!) - go for tommy emmanuel Day Tripper. Google for the tabs, there are plenty out there.

I've been watching this clip for days now, and after downloading the tabs, I almost have half of the song memorized. I noticed that you improvise in various places, and I've been trying to incorporate your improves into the song, it sounds way better than the sheet music. Your truly an inspiration man, no doubt. Keep doing what you do.

Thanks! Here's my formula:

* Trawl the internet looking for existing versions of the tune.

* Listen to the tune, pick out the "sounds" that I like - bassline, melody & chords.

* Spend a week doodling with the song; type it into powertab.

* Spend a month or two playing the tune without looking at the tab.

* Record a video for youtube!

So the video and the tab don't necessarily line up; sometimes I go back and as-build it or rev it up with new ideas making it further different.

Yep, acoustic electric. It's plugged directly into the PC and recorded straight to harddisk which helps. The pickup (Maton AP4) has a pretty good sound to start with as well. New strings gave it extra brightness; the guitar body has a good bass response too.

I also ran the sound through an equaliser to drop the midrange a bit, and some post processing reverb.

So all in all I did everything possible to get that sound - glad you enjoyed it ;)
