I was in a cab talking about these lights with a friend about how they knew someone who got in an accident because of them... then the cab driver, who thought he was catching the yellow light turned left and almost got us killed. They're dumb and confusing... not to me. just cuz i live here.
These signals seem confusing since they're a new concept which may phase out the "doghouse" style (5 section) signal. They're more easier to understand now that Fullerton has started to place signs next to the signals saying "YIELD ON FLASHING". Gives drivers more opportunities for making left turns, especially if the oncoming traffic lanes have a green light, but there isn't any oncoming traffic.
ONLY PROBLEM WITH THE FLASHING YELLOW IF ANYONE HAS NOTICED IS WHEN YOUR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO STARE UP AT THE LIGHT TO SEE IF IT'S BLINKING OR NOT AND THE LATE TURNING PEOPLE ARE GETTING IN NEAR ACCIDENTS!
