i want to get into biking and i dont know if i should get a 250 or 650?? people say its best to start with a 250 but my friend stated biking a couple of months ago with a 650 and he loves it
i have a question for anyone. I drive a 2010 ford focus(parents car) or a 2005 alero. i can no longer really afford gas and the auto insurance so i was wondering would it be cheaper to ride this bike when u take into account insurance and fuel?
@likespaintball umm the as far as insurance its higher on bikes but as far as gas goes its alot cheaper,, for me anyways. i pay $344 ever 3 months for my insurance,
Congrats on the bike. I really like these newer Ninja 250's and will probably get one. I currently ride a 250cc scooter and love it, and the storage is a requirement. Do you know if rear trunks go well on these? It's a requirement for whatever bikes I ride. :/
@younggstyle123 A ninja 500 would be better for you. It looks ugly but is still a lot of fun and you don't care how your bike looks while you are riding.
hey, kyle. I noticed you had said you lived in minnesota, so do I. how often do you get out and riding ? i know you can't ride in the winter obviously, but do you get your money's worth out of it if your just riding during spring/summer/fall seasons?
And where did you grab this fine piece of work? im intrested in getting a ninja250 but don't know local motorcycle shops that sell them. any tips?
hey kyle, i rode my friends 250 cc kawasaki dirtbike 07 model, and i was wondering if the Kawasaki Ninja 250R 09 model are alike the same acceleration/top speed...? im thinking of buying one of these whats the price tag....
i wanna take a motorcycle license when i'm 16 , i'm 14 right now can u tell me what the blue light on the guage is for? & is this a good bike for bigginers?
@RJKcool3 Yes it's great, i'm 17 and i'm 5'7...140 lbs. Bike fits PERFECTLY. Feels like it's meant for you. And looks great.
I'de actually be really depressed to be 14 and be watching all these videos about bikes since I couldn't wait to buy one...saw one on kjiji and went to pick it up same day. SOOOO glad I did!
@dandarra92 everyone seems to think that if they weigh a lot the top speed suffers. Simple physics tells us that what really suffers is the acceleration. You should have no problem getting up to speeds that break laws, it will just take longer than some lighter.
Hey, Im 15 and when I get my license, I want to buy a bike. Ive been looking at Kawasaki's but I dont know what I should start with. If anybody can tell me what would be good to buy, how much it would cost and all that stuff. Thanks!
its one of my favorite...but i buy a little one because the money... anyway my bike is honda cbr 125r 08 with injection and i'm gonna upload some videos to take a look!
@KoreanRobot The Ninja 250 retains its value so well that it's ridiculous. I've seen only $500 off 2 year old 250's wih 5k miles. Might as well buy a new one, then sell it a year later and step up to a 600 or a 650 (which is just detuned). This is the hottest noob bike in America!
@MuayThaiMMAjunkie The styling for the 650 is nowhere near as sharp as the 250. Im not planning on racing, im not in Germany near the Autobahn. A 250 is just fine. Its also true i wish it would depreciate more. Ill probably wait until the 2011 model comes out just to get the 2010.
@319PurpleHaze The RPM limit for the first 1000km is the "Break in" period- It's there to ensure that your motor will work properly. If the motor is run too hard in this period, it can cause problems dealing with compression, burning oil, and other things.
@dergangedchipmunk Its not great, but it would probably work. Youll look very tall on it. And if you weigh more than 220 you might wanna look at getting a 650r.
im pretty sure they do because the key hole makes it quite obvious, however if you are looking to carry something small/illegal put it in a liquid/air tight case and tie a string to it and put it in the gas tank :) just a thought
hey do you still have her??? She's beautiful and im seriously thinking about buying one in two or three months as my first bike. If you do still have her, how has she held up for the past two years?
@xXKurisuSanXx I did put a 1 year review video up.. I got it in March of 08 and have about 5000 miles on it. It's been a great bike and I highly suggest it as a beginner bike. It's very easy to ride and learn on. I had the older version also, (2007) and that was also an excellent bike. The older models do offer a bit more comfort, but these look better. I suggest either bike (the older ones are much cheaper if you're on a budget)
@DreaDedDayDreams There are hooks underneath the seat to lock your helmets to, the hooks behind the license plate are used for straps etc. to secure cargo on the back seat.
@paintballxguy It does. But premium extend the life of the engine. It is worth the extra 10 cents considering the tank is so small, it might only cost you 50 cents more.
Take it for what is worth, every number I've "Heard" has said 5.5 seconds. But lets face it. like you said, anyone who owns one, is likely to embellish, God knows I would. ;)
@ImGodUFUCK thank you so much for this idea. as soon as i get mine im going to ride up to my friends house, pull out the sandwich and just chill there with TWO things he cant have XD
go for it, its all about personal preference and its just green, not a bad color its just a color,im gettin black cuz thats my fav color, so go for it!
I used to ride Hondas, but they didn't have a small, cheap, sporty bike like Kawasaki did when I was looking to get a bike. Next one I get will be a Honda 600RR.
Sup Kyle im about to buy my first bike soon I was wondering how much did you pay for the bike total after all the tax, license plate and what not? thanx
I suggest going to a dealership and sitting on one. I'm 6'0 and I have no problem on it. It will no doubt have plenty of power for you. I ride on mine with my girlfriend all the time, and it'll still do 80-90 no problem.
i just got a 89 zx6 yesterday omg its scary first gear is givin me a hard ass time learnin to clutch and everything...should i keep the zx6 and learn or trade for a 250?
Yes. With a permit, in my state here in the U.S. you must always wear a helmet, not drive at night, no driving on freeways, and there's a limit to how big the city you can drive in also. A permit can be acquired by just a written test, and for a full license you must take a driving test.
im thinking about getting the 2010 Kawasaki ninja 250r for my first bike. Im 6'1 185lbs so i dont think it will be a problem but i learned yesterday that here in TX if you take a Motorcycle Safety Course for $160 (they supply the bike) all you have to do is take a written test at the DMV and you get your Liscense. Cant wait. Nice bike BTW
really? i thought the course provided a written test and a riding test. all you have to do is bring what the instructors gives you and you get a license at the dmv.
take the motorcycle safety course and you have to take a written test at the dmv only. not the riding test. i took the beginners and intermediate mfs course
i was thinking of getting this one but only have 7months b4 im unrestricted, and i do want a bigger bike something bad compared to the 250, but have to say they are a gorgeous bike
don't get a 600 for your first bike. go for a 250 or a 500 at the most. a 250 is plenty fast for a new rider. I know because i just got my license. on the 5th. plus the new ninja 250 has no problem getting up to like 125. how much faster do you really want to go?
hey im 15 and im wanting a motorcycle when i get my motorcycle license is this a good bike ill turn 16 in november right now im 5,7 and i weigh aobu 140-150 would this be a good starter bike for me i ride a honda xr 200r are they close in height
yes this would be a great bike for you... there isnt too much power, but theres enough for an adrenaline rush.. trust me i have been riding since i was 8, you dont want to start out on a big bore bike, if you do you will get yourself hurt. remember , squid, stupid quick underdressed inevitably dead look up "brand new gixxer crash" you will see what happens when a new rider steps on a 1000 he drives out of the dealership, and goes literally less then 100 feet before he crashes.
I knew it! I've got one and I'll be able to ride it tomorrow, I have a yamaha virago I was doing 120 (super top speed for that bike) and this little ass on a ninja 250 just pass me like I was going 80 and he was going 120! can't wait to have a full licence for a big bike but till then I think this bike is the best around! insurance puts it in the racing category!!! :]
Well that's not too bad, but I'm sure it still sucks wrecking your baby :-/ Will do, I can't wait for spring, I'm gonna bring my bike to Bemidji where I go to college, there's some great roads down there.
Shoulda put the tach in the center.

dasherdudester 2 years ago
I only had my permit, however, we hauled it home in the back of my dad's pickup truck.

So you didn't drive it ? it was put on the back of your dads pickup ?

*whats
Permit being like a half license?
dasherdudester 2 years ago

Cant wait. Nice bike BTW

really? i thought the course provided a written test and a riding test. all you have to do is bring what the instructors gives you and you get a license at the dmv.
maybe im wrong.

i could be wrong as well, thats just info i read about a course here in Austin.

take the motorcycle safety course and you have to take a written test at the dmv only. not the riding test. i took the beginners and intermediate mfs course

i was thinking of getting this one but only have 7months b4 im unrestricted, and i do want a bigger bike something bad compared to the 250, but have to say they are a gorgeous bike

hey, 2 questions i'm just wondering if you are regretting not getting the 600cc ninja instead? and what's your age/insurance cost like???
et3isme 2 years ago
don't get a 600 for your first bike. go for a 250 or a 500 at the most. a 250 is plenty fast for a new rider. I know because i just got my license. on the 5th. plus the new ninja 250 has no problem getting up to like 125. how much faster do you really want to go?
