To have a mentor who will be there when you fall to help you up without judgement is a priceless gift. But you have to be prepared to really take on board what you are told. Sometimes if your mentor really cares the advice may hit a raw nerve but you have to take it on board.
I've certainly experienced that.

@charlieholles Great point Charlie. I've often had to bite my tongue, go home and ponder the feedback given, truly let it settle in, gathering perspective. :)
