The moon is not a planet simply because it does'nt clear out the area around it... The Earth obviously does, because of its higher mass, and the moon orbits the Earth...
eventually the milky way galaxy will collapse on itself. But the moons of all planets will fall out of the gravitational field.become their own.(earths moon could support life if it grows) Luna ( our moon) is 1/4 the size of earth. it is possible for it to grow. The orbit around the sun could evolve into somthing completly different.
The title of this video is poetic license, but one day in billions of years when the Moon escapes from Earth's gravitational field, it will become a planet (and a dangerous one, sharing the same orbit with us...) Thanks for commenting.
@cmsahe Well i have my own thoughts about that. They are saying the moon is getting away from us. But in the mean time the moon is also getting smaller. About 200 meters already. Now the question is is this not the reason why they think this. I mean it is 3 cm per year that they say. But it can be 3cm that it is losing on size instead of getting more away from us. They have to look at this better because so far they did not check this info togheter as far as i know
@cmsahe Are you really suggesting that the Moon, which revolves around the earth at a little over 1 km/s, is going to break out of Earth's gravity when Earth's escape velocity is 11 km/s? Unless my math is wrong, it would appear the Moon is going 11 times too slow.
@burninmunkeys it will not escape but becuse it is drifting away from earth the center of mass is moving farther and farther away from Earths center, however it will take 20 billion years for the center of mass to move outside Earths surface, The Earth, and the moon will be annhilated by the Sun in six or seven bllion years, meaning it will never become a binary planet
@Chriskoj Being bigger than a planet dosen't mean something is a planet, Ganymede and Titan are both bigger than mercury and more massive than pluto, and yet they are moons, becuse they orbit planets, What an object orbits, as well as MASS are what make a planet, not "Size"

@RosalineCullenX Not gonna happen. You know without a galaxy star cannot evolve and then it can be no life.,.

@burninmunkeys I know all that, read the description, this video is just an artistic expression, and as such i titled it.

@Chriskoj But it's not a planet considering it orbits one.
