Question.....I like these cars a lot. I don't own a wrangler but have driven one recently as a rental. I could really tell how reliable and durable it is from a couple of days drive. My main concern is whether the 3.8 liter engine throws enough power to carry the 4 door machine for different uses.....would appreciate ur response.
^If I was going to buy a Wrangler and really build it up I wouldn't bother getting a Rubicon as I would probably replace everything the Rubicon has except for the front Dana 44. However, for any other reason, I'd buy a Rubicon.
You ask a tuff question. What you are looking for is front and rear lockers when rock crawling. Rubicons have both. I bought a NEW JK cash! And for the most part think is was the best think I have ever done with my life. Tires are important too...and clearence....4 10 gears for sure..comes on Rubys...that means you can crawl slower with more torq...SO yes Rubicons are worth it. Good luck..
@kf4tjp Unlimited. Longer wheel base is more stable. Most people into serious offroading will extend the wheelbase of their 2 doors anyways so you might as well get it stock
straight out of the factory the rubicon is more capable.. juss if you have the money you could make a regular wrangler just as or more capable than a rubicon
the difference between the rubi and the rest is simply that therubi is locked and 4low is 4:1 torque the rest is the same you can buy a jeep x for 23 and then modify it and it will perform better than the stock rubi
I have all the useless info floating fresh in my head! LOL! That green does look awesome though, I got the silver one. JK looks pretty stock to with exception of the front bumper and KC lites...good to know we can do this in ours eh!
It's not a Rubi as it doesn't have the hood badge. It's an Unlimited "X" as the fender flares are black (see video 1:06) Sahara's have body colored fenders..."X" models have the black matte poly fenders.

@guyNbluejeans- I have had mine for 3 years, no real issues. It's a Jeep- they are built tough.

I've been racking my brain trying to figure out if I should buy a Regular Rubicon or an Unlimited Rubicon. What's your input?

@akonius02
dont simply look at the hood. it has rubi rails and rubi take-off tires and wheels. look at the shocks to tell. rubi's have red shocks
