his Jazzmaster has 3 pickups...thats fuckin cool two standard soap bars and some sort of metal plated single coil looking thing in the middle position, anybody know whats up with that???
as an long, long time cure fan i just can say one thing:we are really...really blessed with this band that gives us so many greatful songs...such as "M"!!!big, big love
This is a absolutely great vid! Good quality and The Cure at it's best. For me the best years were the beginning with the albums boys don't cry- 17 seconds and offcourse faith!! Although they had a strong comeback with disintegration they never catched me again like they did with this kind of songs. MANY THANKS FOR THIS UPLOAD!!!!
@TheLeocure92 i know that gig at prospect hill'80,have it still on tape....it's fantastic,i'm lovin' it!!!!they played almost the complete 17seconds with incredible versions of my favourites at night,m,in your house plus super rarities like meathook, another day,i'm cold....
SImply Brilliant. Simon's Fender Precision Bass is tight & hums along and I really like Matt's work on the Korg 700. Rob singing and guitaring is tight!
Lord have Mercy!! I must say that Robert is quite sexy here!! This is such an excellent song!! An exceptionally brilliant album as well!! There is no one like The Cure, no one!! :P And that is the way I love it!! :D I do so love The Cure!! ♥♥♥
@SiameseTwins14 I totally agree! Why does this good looking boy cover himself up???The Cure still takes me down the enchanted road...But Robert really looks great)
This has always been one of my favourite Cure albums, & what a great performance of a fine song. I don't think people always appreciate how pioneering these guys were.
Robert is just downright sexy here!! Man alive!! :) This song is amazing!! And Robert knows how to knock your socks off with his guitar playing!! Wow!! The Cure forever and always!! :) ♥
Hot Damn!! Robert looks so hot in this video!! And he rocks this song as always!! The Cure are truly phenomenal!! I love this band !! The Cure forever my friends!! ☺♥
Wow! This is awesome! One of my favourite songs from Seventeen Seconds! Great performance, great quality video & by golly do Robert & Simon look cute!!!
@fobiedgar not sure what amp Simon was using live in 1980, but he used ampeg amps on the studio recording of Seventeen Seconds. Bass is only 1/2 of the sound.
Wonderful uploads, Charlie. Keep em' coming!! Do you by chance have "Jumping someone else's train" and "A reflection" from this same gig? I would love to see them uploaded :D Thanks again.
sounds fucking great!...great song & band.

(kickass guitar solo)
cmclsrnsee 7 months ago
@cmclsrnsee
If you think that was a kickass guitar solo, then maybe you should check out the M solo from Werchter '81. This solo is pretty messy by comparison.
Hwral 5 months ago
I dunno if non-musicians and non-expert musicians notice, but R.Smith is waayyyy above the average guitar player, and unrecognized for that!!
Should be put next to Johnny Marr and The Edge and Thom Yorke..
