  • @performancelosreyes The LF-A recorded a WET time around the Top Gear track of 1:22, the Aventador recorded a DRY time of 1:16. RWD + WET < AWD + DRY

    As for Audi building cars to handle well... No. Just no. Audi handle terribly. The only Audi to actually handle reasonably are: The B5 RS4, the R8. That is it.

    The R8 GT will get eaten alive by the LF-A, and especially so by the LF-A Nurburgring Edition. Although the R8 handles well for an Audi, it is nothing next to the scalpel called the LF-A

  • @performancelosreyes The LF-A is built to turn corners. You're also comparing a 560ish HP RWD to a 700ish HP 4WD car - from a standstill. That's not comparing cars, that's comparing traction, tyres and torque. Of course a 4WD will be quicker from zero!

    As for the Lamborghini Aventador, that has its own unique chassis and drivetrain, unrelated from Audi completely. Volkswagen own both, but the Aventador is entirely unique to all other Volkwagen Group created vehicles.

  • You know, the EVO guys certainly aren't as funny or as overly dramatic as the Top Gears fellas, which I absolutely love.

    But I actually really like how they do things at EVO, their mag is great, the reviewers are great, it's a simpler approach overall, but it definitely works for me. I love it!

  • @johnyrate when Enzo came out MSRP was $750,000 that being said there were only 20 put into production... Now that only 16 remain (because of people who can't drive and crash them) they are in the millions and in order to buy one you have to have owned a 599gtb a 612 scagletti and a 355 in order to sell it, you have to sell it through a ferrari dealer, not on your own.

  • @rmcld That's not completely accurate. The interior of any Lamborghini shares switchgear and inspiration from an Audi R8/A8. More importantly, the V10 engine block in the Gallardo was developed by Audi. Ferrari is more bespoke, but it shares components with Maserati and Alfa Romeo. In the end almost all exotic car manufacturers have to lower costs by lifting technology from parent companies, or collaborating with other companies. Bentley for instance takes a lot from Volkswagen.

  • @BYSMA4th Sharing components and parts is one thing, building the engine is another, Lamborghini did build the Gallardo V10 not Audi.

    Interiors are not engineering, they´re fashion.

    I can assure you all the engines Ferrari or Lamborghini makes are build and engineered in Italy by their employees, these aren´t Multijet or TDI engines shared by a ton of cars.

  • @rmcld not entirely true, take lamborghini for instance, yes the raw engineering is by lambo but the technical engineering is by audi. I agree with you but audi is not just funding lambo. They make all the decisions and at the end of they day audi has control over what lambo does.

  • @rmcld That isn't true about lamborghini's though. There are bits of Audi in each Lambo. Some of the body panels are shared, instrument panel, 4wd system. There is alot of influence from Audi

  • @rmcld the complete autobody and the painting is made in heilbronn/germany and some of the "new" engines for lamborghini are advanced by audi-technic. the assembling and setting up the components then take the part in sant’agata bolognese/italy. audi ag is not only a propietor company to the italian, but the one who support them to deployment their technic and building from advanced factories over the world...

    The only thing LFA feels good is the sound it's engine makes, that's purely F1 sound, offcourse the interior is good too but hey, this car is not much compared to aventador forsure.

LFA is not, it has the looks and above all the biggest selling point of the car is its exotic interior, but that's pretty much the same as audi R8 v10 and that's around 100,000 pounds. Enzo at the time of it's launch was no way near 1mil, that's another story though.

  • I love how technical, and nerdy this car is, I love this noise, I love how it looks. I love everything.

    You can argue that it's not as special as a Ferrari and the name in the world of supercars at least means nothing in comparison, but even Ferrari had to start somewhere. It's an incredible car and very rare.

  • I think in the EVO magazine, they did mention the biggest compliment they could say of it is it doesn't seem to be over-valued, even at 300k pounds. It's much,much more than just mere performance, this car. It's a whole more. It's the details that mark this one as something very special.

    However, for those of you bitching about how top gear criticized you must realize their point.

    This is over 300,000 euro. The Bugatti might not be 12 times the car but it does out perform EVERYTHING. It is well worth it's price. Is this? I personally love this car and i'm not even a toyota fan but hnestley.. 300,000?

    The GT-R is 80,000 U.S and out performs this car. The LFA isn't even barley better and thats the point.

    costs just 200 thousand pounds, then how on earth you would go for 350K 550bhp super car which gets beaten by many in its category. And European made cars have by default high labor cost which increases the price. With all those factors when aventador latest model costs 100K pounds less then LFA, that to me is a poor engineering on part of toyota. Im sorry.
