Jesse Lacey is a true talent, I love brandnew but some of my favourite performances have features simpley Jesse and a guitar. Thats where he comes alive, he's a story teller with a guitar. Class

It's a shame, Jesse seems so much more introvert live than he used to.

i love how jesse can write lyrics that are subtle but still really strong. he writes songs about religion and internal struggle, but he can't be labeled as just a religious musician, and he can do the same for a song like this. it's a subtle anti-war song. he writes how he feels about everything he feels, not just one thing, which is great.

Well, not the "lyric sites are stupid" part, it's a little trite. But the "follow your heart" bit embodies music at it's best.

Take what you will from a song. Make it your own. If it means more to you to think that he says "my brother's head", then sing it as "my brothers head". There are no lyrics police on the internet, just trolls that will make asses out of themselves.
