Democratic Republic of Congo, for example, doesn't tell you anything about the country. 2 party democracy(usa) is better than 1 party democracy(ussr) etc. Most of Europe after the ww2 has changed its constitution to prevent rising of fascism which emphasizes on protection of ethnic minorities and workers rights.

There are types of democracy that are based on free association, federalism, individual autonomy etc. - not mob rule

The big question, of course, is why did they let them into the building if they had no proper search warrant, according to Portland Indymedia.
