  • Yes, I am using a form of Contact Sign because I'm gearing it to hearing viewers. I know I should include captions, but I don't know how.

  • i don't mean to be picky but your use of ASL in this video is VERY Englishy itself, other than ASL negs (shaking head), some basic use of space and some RH questions. otherwise it looks like CASE (conceptually accurate signed English) not ASL -- to me I mean. any comments?

  • Yes, I comment on your comment. First, why not a video response, since you are expert? Second, is there something wrong with using CASE? What about mixing manual English with ASL, do you disapprove of deaf doing this?

  • Hi. Thanks for your comment. I don't own a camera. No, there's nothing wrong with using CASE -- I never said there was. I was just asking for her comments. I think it's irnoic that she is using CASE, or PSE, or whatever you wanna call it, to explain how ASL is based on concepts not English words. But maybe she is directing her comments at a hearing audience and so is making it easier for them to understand -- I don't know. That's why I asked for her comments. Is that clear?

  • Love this explanation, next time please close the blinds behind you, sorry, difficult to see you...thanks

  • Yep. The blinds were actually closed, but it didn;t matter. Sorry!!!
