I like this clip, and I often wonder about Jayne Marie, if she's doing well. Jayne was certainly all that and more. The good all die young, or so it seems.
Amazing to discover that the "Jayne Mansfield" persona was the invention of a smart, accomplished woman who played piano and violin beautifully, spoke 5 different languages, was well read, and had a high IQ.
This is a lesson to not believe that the performer's act necessarily represents who they really are. Jack Benny was not cheap, W.C. Fields liked kids, Gracie Allen was not a dumbell and Boris Karloff was a very gentle man.
EXACTLY....I always say this. Another great example is Alice Cooper, who I was lucky enough to meet and when seen in interviews he couldn't be MORE normal...loves to golf, friends with
It is a sorprice to me! Here we had Jayne Mansfield who had an IQ of a genious playing La Malagueña whose author was a Cuban genious named Ernesto Lecuona.

She had such a high opinion of herself that she turned down the part of "Ginger" in the TV series "Gilligan's Island", claiming that TV was beneath her, and that she was a "movie star". The only movies she appeared in for the rest of her short life were low-budget garbage. So ... how "smart" was THAT? ;) [That's my opinion. I do NOT welcome yours.]
She wanted to star in film and not television, and hence, she is forever remembered as a MOVIE STAR, how she always wanted. Jayne Mansfield WAS a SMART and FAMOUS woman and always will be, and guess what? No amount of silly remarks you make will change that! ;)

Wow. Jayne was so BEAUTIFUL, SMART, and TALENTED. It is amazing to see that. I heard she had an IQ of 140, or some high number. Her daughter (Marishka Hargitay) said that her mother would laugh at her sexy persona. I believe her heart was always toward her family and children.

It sucks that she sold her soul for fame and fortune.

Very true, in fact I find that the majority of the "dumb blondes" were very intelligent women-Jean, Marilyn, Jayne, and Mamie.
