Dharamsala government isn't corrupted. They are chosen by a democratic system. The donations are all spend to the community, the kids who are stil smuggled in from Tibet who need education and clothes, it's used for rebuild their culture. That some Tibetan have a difficult life is due to homesickness and the fact that earning money isn't easy to do that's why many go to the western world. HHDL seeks to save the culture/habits of Tibet and wants them not to be discriminated which is now the case.

I agree with Powa2. Any constructive dialogue must be built on recognition of the contribution the chinese govt has made to the level of education, equality and human rights in tibet. Before 1950s, tibet society deprived majority of tibetans of their basic human rights. The chinese govt 'FREED' those people from slavery. I'm going to be fair with you, Chinese media really isn't any better than CNN, Fox, NBC or ABC. CCTV and Xinhua are state-owned companies, which means they'll try to fit their broadcasting with the interests of the Chinese government.

Dharamsala government isn't corrupted. They are chosen by a democratic system. The donations are all spend to the community, the kids who are stil smuggled in from Tibet who need education and clothes, it's used for rebuild their culture. That some Tibetan have a difficult life is due to homesickness and the fact that earning money isn't easy to do that's why many go to the western world. HHDL seeks to save the culture/habits of Tibet and wants them not to be discriminated which is now the case.

The 17 Point Agreement, signed by China and Tibet in 1951,lays ground-rules for the "peaceful liberation" of Tibet. It shows that Tibet agreed to be under China's rule, however, it also shows that China agreed to let Tibet have autonomy.
Point #4 says:
The Central Authorities will not alter the existing political system in Tibet. The Central Authorities also will not alter the established status, functions and powers of the Dalai Lama. Officials of various ranks shall hold office as usual.

I agree with Powa2. Any constructive dialogue must be built on recognition of the contribution the chinese govt has made to the level of education, equality and human rights in tibet. Before 1950s, tibet society deprived majority of tibetans of their basic human rights. The chinese govt 'FREED' those people from slavery. While there is still a long way to go, and certainly as an end goal tibetans should be given autonomy, it is wrong not to acknowledge chinese contributions.

One of my freinds was there 2 years ago!! And what he have seen was terrible: 5 policeman have hit 1 buddhist monk. Only because he has demonstrated for human rights with a little placard. Later, the policeman destroyed the camera of my friend. Only one photo he could rescue. Should I send it to you? And in our days you can not go to Tibet, because it is close for other people. Why? Definitely not to protect the Tibetans or what do you think what you could see now in Tibet if you would be there?

I always told myself to keep an open mind to listen to others' opinion then to make a judgement. This is what I started to watch this vidio clip. But I do not see any evidence to support his point. instead just the Nepel and indian police tried to control the protest situation. So if you want to persuade people, try to prepare some evidence.

Do understand one thing very clear, only your strength (military wise) will make your voice heard in this world..then you should consider talking/negotiating/demanding with the "Evil".

In our history, Europeans and British colonists came to the new world, and conquered the Native Americans, and their land inevitably became the U.S, I know, we colonists are dirty bastards, but what can you do? So Tibet, just accept the fact that life is not fair, but don't actively disrupt the current civil order. I think the recent fiasco really makes Tibetans and especially the monks look very bad. I feel bad that we even enslaved the blacks, but hey, now they are called African "American!"

I just do not get the Tibetans, and the whole crazy riots and heavy protests that took place in recent days. As an American living in the U.S., in my opinion, history is written by the victors and losers are eventually forgotten. Let's just assume that Tibet was an independent country, but it lost the battle against China, and thus became part of China.

well we have our own democratic tibetan goverment in exile who is always willing to have dialouge with your chinese goverment, but your goverment tries to create more controversy and ethnic tension between chinese people and tibetan people.
just to let you know, CIA funded a small unit of tibetan guerrilla fighters in 1961 in border of india and tibet, but the campaign was called off due to disagreement of dalai lama as for its voilence method.

War is no good answer. But what will we do? Violance against the violance? Or Gandhi's way? Gandhi only won, because the British goverment are not use many violance! But in Tibet they kill the people, who are demonstrate for their rights! They drive with tanks in the crowd of demonstrators, like 20 years ago in Peking! ...um i don't really see any evidence why tibet isn't part of China. All the pictures are basically of protests and random tibetans kids. The ones that show Tibetans getting arrested (probably for good reason) are all either Nepalese police (you can tell by their unis) or people who are OBVIOUSLY NOT Chinese such as at 1:45, looks like some middle eastern guy with a huge bushy mustache. Thanks for including the picture of VIOLENT Tibetans riots at the end..

Tibet will be free even if it takes a thousand years. We will never bow down to oppression and genocide. Time will come for reckoning and we will use whatever means that is necessary, even those that is not allowed by Dalai Lama. Do you have the stomach? No government of any country in the world has ever recognized Tibet as an independent state. Unfortutely those files are not in English.
