I guess I am in the minority but that fight was hard for me to watch. I thought the referee was incompetent based on the stoppage taking so long. Finney was clearly defenseless against a superior fighter . Either find a suitable opponent for this woman or let her fight men.

I think Cyborg seriously felt bad for Finney and held back a bit on the fight. On one of the Strikeforce pics from that night (see facebook), there is a pic of Cyborg holding the ice pack on Finney's eye.

The ref was giving Jan a chance to fight. The stoppage was not late. Jan did a great job. I didn't here anyone complaining after Brock punched Mir in the face 15 unanswered times.

Cris stoop up and walked away and then going fetal again. The fight shouldn't have gone into the second round. I'm fine with the second round the stoppage was fine. Comparing one bad moment with another doesn't make it right : /

@booe34 I complained about the Mir/Lesnar fight. This is ridiculous, Finney was done 4-5 minutes before the fight was called. Kim Winslow is an idiot and should be fired. She's done a great job in other fights I've seen her call but I have no earthly idea why she was so negligent here. Hats off to Finney for not giving up, but it's a case where a fighter has more guts than brains. The ref's job is to protect the fighter from themselves and call it when the fighter won't. Frankly, I'm disgusted

I can appreciate the point here. Refs need to do better all around in this sport for the most part. They should have warned Finney at the end of the first round--aka Velazquez/Rothwell--and then ended it it if she didn't start showing some fight. I just didn't think it was that brutal a fight. There were far worse beatings in Pride. :)

The rule is that the fighter must be defending themselves consciously. Which she was. But, Finney could have verbally submitted or her corner could have stopped the fight after the first. Yes the ref sucks, but most do. She did block a ton of shots, plus Cyborg has pillow fists. lol

@VivaEskimo she did that to make sure nobody could say it ws an un-fair stoppage. She was dead on the action and was close by to stop it, but she let the Girls be Girls on this one. Jan can say nothing or anyone from her team.
