i'm not new to stamping, don't have problems picking up the image. i have a problem with laying the image where i want it, i find myself spending way too much time having to correct it.
@mermaid30019 if you're using small images, maybe try to line it up and roll it on up/down rather than side to side. That MIGHT help, but mostly I think it just takes practice. I don't line them up perfectly every time either. Maybe when you're practicing, put a layer of topcoat down before stamping to make it easier to remove if you have to re-do it.
Thank you for doing this! I wish I would have seen this before I ruined my first stamper. I ordered another and WILL NEVER use a nail file again. When you file it not only does it pick up the image but all the extra polish around it. Then the polish will stain your stamp! It was a mess.
@Mrsblessedlikethat oh see, that's a great testimonial for why not to do that. Thank you for sharing that story with me. I haven't heard from anyone that did that before, so it's good to know. I guess it's a good thing they don't cost too much to replace, at least. :) xoxo
Thank you for giving step by step info. now i can use my plates. I too had left the clear plastic on, until i told my husband saw how pissed i was that i could not get it to work. and even after he figured out the plastic, it still didn't work. now i'll be getting to use them. thanks again. :)
OMG! THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR THIS INFORMATION, IM ONE OF THOSE WHO USED TO RUB THE STAMPER BEFORE PICKING UP THE IMAGE AND WAS NEVER SUCESSFUL IN GETTING A GOOD IMAGE, AND I TOTALLY GAVE UP AND ABANDONED MY STAMPING TOOLS, BUT AFTER WATCHING YOUR VIDEO I TRIED IT AGAING AND GUESS WHAT? IT WORKED, I JUST PRESS DOWN AND RAISED UP AND THE IMAGE CAME UP PERFECT, THANK YOU AGAIN I'LL BE STAMPING FROM NOW ON LOL.
@dgoverness That is so great to know! I am always sooo happy when someone can be helped by something I shared. It's so nice that now you can enjoy your stamping tools the way you were meant to! :) Thanks for sharing that!!
Well well well, I'll be buttered on both sides. I bought a stamping kit ages ago and even after watching tutorials on how to use them, all I would get would be blobs or nothing. I hadn't even noticed that mine were blue and those on other videos were silver. How funny is that. Duh! Nobody on any other video said to remove the blue film. Maybe to them it was so obvious. But thanks to you, now I will be able to use my stamping kit. Thanks so much.
@EnlightenedCate Oh how wonderful! What a huge relief that must be to know now, right? I know sometimes even the most obvious things can get missed, that's why I thought it was important to mention. Besides, I left one on a plate once, too - and it was CLEAR plastic, so even harder to see! lol Glad I could help! Have fun!!
Hey I was wondering if you try a image for me. No matter what I do I cant get this image to stamp. It is the piano keys on plate BM 207. The keys stamp but the lines that separate the keys don't.
@PlasmaSpeedo I hear you there hon, that's exactly why I did this video, due to the multiples of times this question comes up. lol Thanks so much for the compliment! That means a lot to me!! :)
My stamper is coming tomorrow, and I'm so glad I was able to watch your video first :):)

@paperweavertv Oh that's good. I've never heard anyone do it that way successfully, so I'm glad to hear it can still work for someone that way. :)
soguesswhat11 1 month ago
@soguesswhat11 I use the same rolling technique as petrilude on youtube. You can search for his carbon fibre nail tutorial if you want to see it.
