I'm a little confused. There is a "Run for Women of the Congo" which seems to be connected to "Women for Women International Congo." Does this have any connection with Women for Women International Afganistan or Women for Women Oprah or are all of these organizations independent ones working only for women only in specific areas? There should be a world-wide body for this. After all, women are located world wide, and one incident can set an eventual precedent for women world wide.
Lisa has a book coming out in April, 2010, "A Thousand Sisters". It is personal and powerful. Watch for it...get your friends to read it. so more people will wake up to how much we can do for the women and children and people of Congo!
Wonderful.we must know the role that we play in the destruction of the congo.the u.s.fuels all sides of the wars thru out africa.our military also trains the militaries that do much of the crimes like what we saw at abu graves in iraq.these atrocities continue so that we have access to the resources without paying for them.if the people were paid fr resources instead of forced from the villages/homes fr the loot of diamonds in their region there wudn't be the massive suffering thru out africa
These women lose EVERYTHING...it is unbeliable that in this time and age we allow sisters and their families to be tortured. How can we permit this? Let's become their voices and scream for the justice these women and girls deserve.

This is one of the best examples that I have ever seen of a productive response to the profound statement,
"No man is an island." Lisa, you are one of the most important thought leaders of our time. I salute you.
