the marine corps doesnt teach boxing anymore. the fighting with the hands has gone down hill as time progresses. they went from line training where you learn to kill people and break bones right off the bat to the soft ass mcmap.
I know of an Ex-Army who soldier was a skilled martial artist. As he retired from the military, one of the things he always said was how shocked he was at how horrible Close Quarters Combat is emphasized in the military. He was so shocked that he actually wrote a book about it. I think these guys should read it. ^_^ His name is Hakim Isler.

in the british paras it is standard every recruit has to do 'milling' to pass as a para. this is how its done, the rules: no turning your back, no dodging or blocking punches, you are not allowed to stop unless the ref steps in, no other punches are allowed to apart from head punches. round lasts 1 minute it is to show courage and determination in the face of adversity search "p coy milling"

Are marines taught to throw certain combos? i.e. fight in a certain way, aside from what you may already know? Known a few n they'll clean your clock, but teach you some things.

haha my friend was about ot complete Marine training, and he was doing a boxing match like this, he fell backwards and the back of his skull fell back into the toe of one of those steel toed boots. he has partial memory loss and was medically discharged from the marines just before he was about to be shipped out. whats worse is his roomate who shipped out in his place died in his first 12 HOURS of being in afghanistan... true story

@askella45duppy lol no thats not me swinging. i was just defending them cuz you called them a joke. now i just want to explain why i'm not contradicting myself. you can swing hard and not hurt your friends. its all in the technique. the way you bend your wrist or the places you hit them like the bottom of their jaw could really hurt them even with a soft hit. thats why they look "awful" to you. but when you compare to friendly fighting, they are doin just fine.

@dubstepking97 Please bro, I am a MCMAP black belt and Red/Black belt in Hap Ki Do. I would never box a MF I came across in Iraq/Afghanistan. You either take them out with your weapon or ground and pound if you can't do that. Try boxing someone with Flak/Kevlar/Pack/50 other pounds of gear on.

Even without a bayonet it is a wonderful weapon for hand to hand combat (standing). You could "F" someones face/throat/torso up with the muzzle of the gun really well. But I'm inactive in HKD right now b/c there are no dojangs near here, just TKD. I could pass out to the song on your profile (in a good way, very chill).
