I'm 16, so obviously Thomas inpired me, I still got my tapes, I went to one in 2002 at age 7 it was amazing, I just want this event to come back to Northern California, so now my teenage railfan self can take video of this Thomas
i heard thomas here in the USA is just a dummy engine that can make smoke so it looks like he real.is that true or is he an actually running train and their just a back engine to help him pull those heavy coaches?
This is something that i will definately do when i have a kid or kids of my own. I was never previlaged enough to get to go as a kid to any railroad stuff, except a model railroad exibit here and there and at a CSX Operation Lifesaver yard when my dad worked for the railroad. I even got to sit in an SD40-2 Bright Future. Boy was it amazing. Ever since then i have been a fan of the railroad.
I don't believe it. You went on my 13th birthday. Awkward, as I was at the Stock Yards. Anyway, I did it, and I'd do it again if I could. It's lots and lots of fun!
Take a look at my production. You can find the trains, the Finnish army, the beautiful scenery of Finland, folk music, sailing ship "Sedov", martial arts, sports, art exhibitions, animations, a lot of Super 8 films and others interesting!
@DJ3751 that one is nither, its not even motorized, another engine moves the train, there is a thomas that the strasburg railroad owns that is live steam and powered by it self
My 22 month old son is obsessed with your video. It has well timed music, just the right mix of kid pics (toddlers love other toddlers) and trains which he looooooves. Thanks for a great video!!
@JD41796 Ya there all decoys kid and the models arent real :S but most of the engines that you see are not E2's but this video is an E2 and there pretty rare to come by now and days
There is a Thomas that runs up and down the east coast stopping at different rail museums. I saw him last at The North Carolina Transportation Museum. He aslo has been to Tweetsie Railroad in Blowing Rock, NC
What a beautiful family you have! Thank you for posting this video. My 2 year old loves to watch "real Thomas" videos. It is now one of our favorites.
If you take a look at minute 3:35, there is a real engine at the end of the carts, that engine is doing the real job, Thomas is only pulled or pushed by that engine, I was there too in Perris CA last year wiyh my 3 years old son.
I had the exact same question and the engineers were not allowed to comment on it. My guess is it's not live steam, although there are other Thomas engines that are - I don't think they're in North America though.
@chjett 2 live steam Thomases, 4 dummies. The one seen here is one of the standard gauge dummies. I saw a narrow gauge one 9 or so years back. Anywhere else in the world, all live steam engines.
why doesn't he pull annie and clarble x falls on floor laughing x possibley so they can carry more people

There is a live steam Thomas in America. It is mainly located in Strasburg, PA. It was made out of an actual tank engine.
