wow if he doesn't even know that he needs to mist his cage and has practically no vegetation in his cage than he obviously doesn't know how to take care of this snake or any snake for that matter. Something as simple as a plant can make a snake like a viper less stressed and get them to eat because everyone knows that most vipers have trouble eating on there own. and misting is very important as well. Gives them an exotic feel that the snake knows should be there by instinct.
@btbayne Eyelash vipers venom rarely kills people because its venom is only lethal to small mammals. But it is important to seek medical treatment because A bite to the hand or arm which is usually most common can cause bad swelling and produce bleb and if you get injected with enough venom it might cause your arm to have to be amputated. But it will definately cause you to have vomiting and intense diarrhea and can make you pass out. There are rare incidences of people dieing but it is rare!
Not a bad first; but dont underestimate their strinking distance or speed. Do research first, and if at all possible, get a lot of practice working with hots before buying your own.
That still makes its bite potentially fatal. In addition, antivenoms can cause fatal allergic reactions of their own.
