@fredpeterson28557 Tornadoes happen on the edge of a thunderstorm quite often. That's why you will see blue skies in some of the videos on youtube. Most of the time, there will be yellow or orange in the backdrop if you're able to see sunlight. And if you're facing directly at the storm, that's when you see the gray or black skies. It all depends on where the viewer is filming from as to what you will see when watching a tornado. Everytime I film a tornado, somewhere sunlight is in my sight.

That first tornado was no way real! The winds are much much faster. They have to be for their to even be a tornado. The dust flying from the ground is going so slow. The clouds around the top of the tornado are going way to slow for this be real.

@alanmichaellincoln I agree, this tornado was too photogenic, however I was there as well and it is too well documented by the hundreds of chasers that were on Highway 287 when it crossed. So, I'm here to say that this is in fact 100% real. I and several other hundred people or so were there. Just do a google search for May 31, 2010 Campo, CO Tornado.

I always found it amazing when Im watching footage like this; how an intense tornado is born when the area around it seems so serene. I can still see blue sky in the background. Wonderful photogenic tornado. They were very fortunate!
