Renault will never produce a nice looking car though. FACT and if that focus was on a drag race to full potential IE to top speed it would me leave the clio for dust. Its onlt the Clios lightness that lets it keep up on short bursts of acceleration and on the windy roads that it was tested on.

I owned a clio 200 before my RS. Thought it was a brilliant fun car but was a bit tiresome sometimes when you were not in the mood because of the lack of torque. Personally they both great cars and will put a smile on your face. They just go about it in a different way.

The previous shape Clio 182 did (I have multiple photographs that show it happening), the original Clio 16v and Williams definitely did, as did the 306 and 106 GTi. Every version of Golf GTI including the current shape lifts its inside rear, and the previous Focus RS did too, as did the old Civic Type R, again I have pictures of it happening. There is no footage of the behind of the Clio in this test so how can you tell this one doesn't? Guess work?

@buttnut1080 All fast Fords have done it in the past, Focus ST, FIesta ST, Focus RS, RS Turbo - I see it as a benefit as if you are a competent driver you can use it to tuck in the front end when cornering hard. It has no negative impact on the handling. The reason it does it is due to the rear anti roll bar being so stiff.

RS is too heavy, weight kills everything in a hot hatch, no matter how much power it has, i had a Pug 106 modded to 160 bhp, and its handling and chassis meant i could do some absurd cornering and keep my speed , i'd love Corrado VR6's got power and the weight is low, only a little nose heavy.

I don't care how unblanced the Focus is, I used to have a focus ST and believe it or not I thought it was too heavy. However like the RS it did have a penchant for huge oversteer which i did enjoy. Now I drive an Integra type R and find its lightness very agreeable.

However I suspect the RS is an absolute laugh of a car and a great car to own, like the clio.

@0revange0 Thats the point of the test. It is seing how different the different classes of car realy are. Of course the Focus is faster, but this video is showing by how much. (very little in real terms)

It's an interesting test, at least for me. There are videos comparing the the megane and Focus already. And according to the website "fastest laps" it is " a bit faster". When the Focus and Megane were recently tested on dyno, they both had about 270 ish bhp. The focus underperforming.

The fact that the clio was all over the RS into, and through the corners, and was able to make up its 100bhp power deficit by slowing quicker, just goes to show that you can make a car "fast" without having to give it silly BHP outputs. Someone should try and make that point to german car manufacturers. More power does not equal a better car.
