  • thank fuck for this track

  • +Brilliant, been listening for years.

  • Wow, I was never a real fan of the Seconds song, as it sounded on the album..but this live rendition was great! I wish U2 produced more songs where both the Edge and Bono sang together like this.

  • Is this the popmart tour???

  • @dontknomuch haha no...sorry not laughing...this is the War Tour....about 10 years before Pop....or were you being sarcastic.....sorry if you were!

  • i thumb up about getting rid of that pop mart hair cut.. but i dont know about the mullet lol :)

  • would pay top dollar to hear them play this today!!

  • favorite u2 song

  • @zedrein18,Bono is the best frontman there is!!!he isn't ridiculous at all!!!i love him!love U2...

  • bellissimooooooooooooooo

  • U2 MASTERPIECE!!!

  • @zedrein18 name a frontman who isnt ridiculous. im sorry your jealous that he did it first and did it better. but seriously....all ALL frontmen are ridiculous. self centered. egotistical, ridiculous men. thats the point. if they werent ridiculous they would be the bass player...probably much like yourself.

  • @milltown420 whoa whoa whoa, I'm on your side but don't go dissing bass players! There are quite a few ridiculous bass players out there! Adam Clayton isn't that layed back, he's a goof! And Michael Anthony from VH is a total nut! The craziest I personally think of them all is The Flea!! He's the most craziest badass motha' out there! That's why we love'em all :) The music's good, the people are entertaining and great, let's all just chill and enjoy the tuneage

  • @vanhalendreams as someone who's sister named my nephew 'Halen' after Van Halen....i must say i got your comment and agree with you wholeheartedly sir!!! (or maam....). i totally and completely agree with you...my reply was a knee jerk reaction to a total jerk reaction. you understand :) best to you.

  • @milltown420 Yes I am a guy hahaha and I'm glad you're someone who can be on the same level as others, it makes conversations go a lot more smoothly. No worries at all, I appreciate cool people like yourself, and the uncertainty on your sir or maam, either way, you have class my friend! And that is the best thing I have ever heard!! I'm debating now on one day to have my chile named Halen :D That kicks ass!

  • @zedrein18 stupid boy...are you stupid my friend,,,bono iis a beautifull man...never talk about bono,,its a good on heart...we love u2 ever....u2 portugal

  • They never show Larry for long enough! This concert looks so awesome. What year was it?

  • @Lemurbutt 1983

  • We'll see each other again in 7 days in Denmark......fantastic song......would love to hear it live next week......c",)

  • Thank god for you tube and great songs like this !! On my travels i need to hear sanity on my ears , and to see n hear u2 and sing along in some internet cafe somewhere ...well say no more !!! 80's GREAT !!!

  • You know that any given photo of a modern concert, there are at least six of your former girlfriends. Girls are just smarter that way. (katalina translates) See?

  • u2 should do a tour of 80s songs only if not release some shows from the archives pre1990.

so wrong we have to watch some 80s clips on youtube when they could of released them in perfect quality.

  • Magnifique tout simplement magnifique j'aime

  • Awesome....beyond words...awesome!

  • when you are 12, to take "War" and "Blood red sky" right in the face, it can change you life ;-)

  • No one else like them...

  • push the button, pull the plug. being a scared kid in the 80's. eyeliner, cloves, and monkey boots.

  • Say Bye Bye

  • goose bumps

  • One of the greatest places to see a concert.

  • i couldnt make it to the show, but i remember the intense fog.

    i remember "stormy" rottman,

    (channel 9 news)

whimsically relating it to the u2 show

    at red rocks.

oh ya... lol, funny to see the stage

    again w/o the permashelter.

  • This and "Like a Song" are my favorite U2 songs. This one has to be the best because it is so heavy and absurd.

  • One word "amazing" I wonder if they really had any idea of the effects there music has today. Bono is one of the worlds best writers and there music will long out live them, it's a privillage to see this band. Hopefully 360 will come to oz

  • Thanks for this gem of a share Adam (Tabjet). Excellent post!!!

  • Thanx Tamljet - this band got me through some serious heavy weather. x

  • I love U2 :). This has got to be one of my favorites :D.

  • perfect.

  • awesome

  • te gek

  • in an apartment on time square, you can assemble them anywhere, hell to ransom , a hell to pay, a revolution everyday. USSR, DDR, London, New York, Peking,... is the puppets, 'n 's the puppets who pull the strings YYA. uoooooooooooooooooooo- oooooooo-oooooo ooo oo..-uooooooo-oooooooo-oooo-o-o--o-o-say goodbye, SAY GOODBYE, say goodbye, SAY GOODBYE, SsAaYy GgOoOoDdBbYyEe............

LOVE U2 is still 25 years.

  • I love this one

    so U2!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • one of the best songs EVER recorded. thank you for making it. U2 Live at Red Rocks...priceless

  • GO EDGE! Woot! Awesome song.

  • hope this song makes their setlist at their 360 concerts

  • I Meant aphrodisiac I misspelled.

    Thanks for pointing it out.

    How embarrassing.

  • Damn, Bono needs to leave the Popmart hair cut alone and grow back that mullet!

  • Eu amoooooooooooo....

  • The greatest band on the universe!!!

  • the edge has also sang numb...which is also a really great song x

  • Im sorry but U2 can't escape themselves, and they have become the massive 100 million dollar corporation at which they used to thumb their noses. They won't write protest songs about G7 summits, WTO, or globalization would they? Jumbled spanglish: uno (1), dos(2) tres (3), catorce (14)? What the F? Sending there finances out of Ireland to avoid taxation? You can't sing that crap away. I like this song though.

  • you do make some good points but they were almost broke when they made did this gig, i think they don't wanna go broke again. The ipod ad was gratis. They have a political lobbyist in Bono with access to governments worldwide. whoever said songs had to make sense just sing dude

  • they also paid for the popmart tour out of their pockets including the stage. escape that.

  • I wish Edge would sing lead more-to date, his only lead vocals are this, Van Diemens Land, and The Fly...am I right?I know he occasionally takes the lead on Sunday Bloody Sunday...well, I have a import CD single and he does it and unplugged live in Kosovo.

  • He also sang lead vocals on "Numb" and "Miracle Drug".

  • He only sings lead for a second on miracle drug. And what part of the fly does edge sing lead on?

  • I think he only sings lead on "The Fly" when it's performed live because the chorus requires two voices. I'm pretty sure he sings the bridge on Miracle Drug, which is also notable for being one of only two songs to feature Larry Mullen's vocals.

  • he sings the really high "love...we'll shine like a burning star" part of the fly.

  • not in the studio version

  • edge also sings sunday bloody sunday sometimes, but its just him no other band members, ex: live mexico city in 97

  • 5 million stars! can I do that? five is just not enough! :-)

  • do they play this song live? im going to see them when they come around again and that would just make the show for me, as this is one of my favorite U2 songs

  • The Edge freaking rocks.

  • They did sell out, but not in 1987. as you probably think, neither in 1991. but in the year 2000.

  • one of u2's very best. harkens back to the days before they became a complete and total sell-out.

  • whatever dude. why do you say that? they are as good today as ever and have not "sold out" whatever that means

  • agree completely.

one of my favourite u2 songs.

  • it was the concert that made u2!!!!!!

  • love the bass on this song shame they dropped this after the uf tour very sad

  • I love it when the edge sings.

  • i remember my bestfriend before how died of malaria. we really loved this song so much. we always sing this song. it takes a second to say goodbye. goodbye my friend.

  • Malaria? Lord where are you from? Sorry about your loss though. Mosquitos suck.

  • Ahhh, those were the days...when Edge had hair.

  • jajajajajaja..... don't be cruel

  • i saw this video when i was just 15 years old, now i'm 37 and i still find it AMAZING

  • same mate i still own the vhs.

aint got the dvd yet for some unknown reason and its nearly the full show

  • yes buddy i still have the vhs too, i 'm gonna buy the DVD.

  • I hold it too!! Old VHS...

  • so much energie goes out froom this song!!!

  • I have the concert on dvd, and this song is one of my favorites

  • What a bunch of real men , man oh man I am glad I did not know them when they were at this stage cause I would have been age 14 and I would have told them to make me a woman now! Man these guys are so good looking! I would have been all over Bono big time, chase him down and roll all around uuuuhhhh huuuuu!

  • ps. this is a suberb performance, i love the angle and steam and crowd and everything

  • this is my favorite u2 song at the moment, war is an underrated album <3

  • I love this Band

  • great song

  • what guitar is the edge playin in this song i cant tell it kinda looks like a tele but the head is different? what is it?

  • It's a Washburn Festival. I don't know the exact model

  • Doesn't anyone realize this is U2's protest song against nuclear weapons? @ 1:26 he's pretending to be a puppet. The Edge sings in most songs, and he's not singing lead, he's singing chorus like usual. Go to school kiddies.

  • Yeah, WTF! On the War album credits, it say Edge sings lead but you can barely hear him. It's just Bono singing, mostly

  • I'm afraid you must have skipped school the day we all learned that Edge sings the first verse by himself. Go back to school.

    -The Kiddies

  • wtf is bono doing at 1:26? btw he looks better here without the cowboy hat and glasses

  • ledzoso4: being a puppet (pull his string) at 1:26. love the edgeyness of drag on the edges' voice.

  • "love the edgeyness of drag on the edges' voice"

    Hehe me too :D

  • I hope the DVD is the FULL show unlike the VHS

  • In the studio version its very difficult to notice the difference between the lines sung by bono and edge

  • Yeah, I have to plead ignorance on this one--I didn't know Edge was so prominent vocally. I just found out in a book (1001 Albums You Must Hear...) But it appears the book is inaccurate--written in 2005, it states that this is one of only TWO ever recorded with Edge on lead. Ahem, Van Diemen's Land AND Numb? I count three.

  • I have a U2 book written by the band. and it talks about the fact that Edge sang in this song.

Bono: I love edge's singing. People often get our voices mixed up.

Edge also sings a bit in sunday bloody sunday. He sings the "sunday bloody sunday" part and bono only comes in on the last "sunday"

  • The Edle also sings the bridge on Miracle Drug from How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb.

  • Don't forget he also sings Van Diemens Land from Rattle and Hum and on a CD single(forgot which)he sings Sunday Bloody Sunday live from Kosovo('97, I think), just him and his guitar.

  • That's what I love about those two. .I love getting surprised to see which sings what part. And it also works when they do a song acoustically too. Their voices blend so well.

  • The fact that this show has not been remastered & released on DVD is really starting to piss me off!

  • it's comming in 2008

  • Where did you hear that? Link????

  • I saw it on wikipedia

  • As well as remastered version of the 1st 3 U2 albums. July21 is the release date(for now). Can't wait. I got the remastered version of Joshua Tree released last year. Hopefully these will be up to the same standards. I hope a remastered version of Unforgettable Fire will follow

  • amazing performance by u2. This song should of been on the 18 singles album instead of sweetest thing

  • Wow, they sound like the Clash in the live version of this song!

(And I doubt they'd be angry at me for making that comparison).

    thanks for uploading this!

  • i think the Clash would be honourd if they sound like U2 now :D !!

  • Unfortunately, there's one small problem with your theory ...

    (rest in peace Joe)

  • my husband looked like Bono when he was young.......

  • But then he went fast and lost his hair right?

  • The voice of edge was very scratchy that day

  • Never found a live video version of this. Awesome.

  • ghostdog is best

  • I love this song so very much and this is an amazing performance of it.

  • Very simple but direct song.
