  • AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!!! Super easy and fun!!! I will be making some fabulous tags and die cuts. Thank you so much for sharing this great idea!! Hugz:) Taylor

  • @DevinTaylorCreations Thank you so much :)

  • Great idea and it looks marvelous.

  • @VoxPandemonium Thank you :)

  • I love that its from a different material! I am going to look for that!

  • @cocolulubub Thanks, you can find it in your home repair stores.

  • @TracysTreasures24 You can find it at the 99 cent store as well.

  • What a great idea! I'll have to try that one. :)

  • @gemstonesmurf Thank you :)

  • Awesome! Thanks for sharing.

  • @shellyanne00 Thank you so much for commenting :)

  • I love foil tape - I stick it on aluminium roof flashing tape for extra chunk!

  • @candipill Thanks for watching and commenting, and for the tip ;)

  • @TracysTreasures24 -Sweet - the aluminium roof flashing that I get has an intensely thick squishy adhesive on the back so if you layer the alu-tape on top of it you get a pewter like effect, and it's soft enough that you can write (recess emboss or deboss) on it with fineliner permanent marker and then it looks like you rubbed patina on it. BTW I love the cadre and lilt of your voice - super soothing and cheery at the same time.

  • OMG! I love this aluminum tape and use it ALL the time! I love embossing it and i made a card for my hubby that looked like an old tin ceiling tile with it. Its funny because i was about to do a tutorial about this stuff because i have talked about it in several vids and have been asked about it. I have been getting into your older vids and happened onto this one. LOVE IT!!! I will be sending people over when they ask me about it. ;) tfs! might do one too, not sure it is necessary though. lol

  • @babyblueagle1 You know what they say..great minds think alike, teehee.

  • @TracysTreasures24 true dat~ lol

  • OMGoodness what a great idea!

  • @awalker1162 Thanks, have fun playing

  • I love using this metal tape. Try peeling the backing off of a small part of the end of your piece of foil and sticking that down first. Then slowly pull off the rest of the backing paper using a towel or cloth to press as you go. This works especially well with large pieces. I learned this doing contact paper.

  • @1jmass Thanks for the tip :)

  • Those darn elves are all over the place. I guess they must multiple like rabbits. You'll find that pen when their done with it. He He!

  • Thanks Tracy for all your helpful tutorials!! Sue

  • @Sue7777000 Thank you Sue, so neat that we can share like this on here.

  • great idea, need to go out and buy some of this tape :) hugs

  • @patt130275 Have fun when you get some.

  • What a crafty idea! This is very cool indeed! Another great tutorial Tracy.

    TFS!

    Sybil

  • @JandSib80 Thank you Sybil.

  • Well you better have been giving hubby some Kudos for that one. What a neat idea, I'll have to hit Home Depot soon and see if they have this. Once you embellish the tag you're never going to see the seams. Beautiful with the alcohol inks! TFS Patti

  • @nwlady1949 Thanks Patti. I don't want it to get to hubby's head that he helped me on this one, teehee.

  • I love the way you come up with budget freindly techniques with stuff we may have around the house. I'm the opposite of you in the way that I'm always playing and experimenting but never have a project in mind, this alwas bothers me because I spend a lot of time doing stuff but have nothing to really show for it in the end :)

  • @jen4524 We need to merge our creative process :) Thanks so much for your sweet comment :)

  • Love it !! TFS :-) -Ellen-

  • @LovetoScrap8 Thanks Ellen :)

  • Love your foil tags - they turned out so cute!! I love the birdcage one - it would look great in a mini album or on a tag. Thanks so much for showing this technique!!

  • @gaylefis Thanks, I haven't used it yet, but you are right it would look cute on a mini.

  • Love this! I dont have a cuttlebug so if you think of any more ways to use that foil, please post! Who knew Home Depot would fast become a craft supply store? Hee hee!

  • @aqtnsd Thanks for commenting. I bet you coud dry emboss it free hand with just a stylis or a dead pen.

  • Great Tip Tracy!! Thanks for sharing this, I will have to raid the garage...I think my husband has some of this!!! Patti

  • @kipperdsnacks Thanks Patti. You never know, you may find some other treasures to use from the garage ;)

  • WOW Tracy!

By looking at your foil tags I would never off guessed they were made from cardstock and foil tape, LOVE your technique and with the alcohol inks, their simply to die for! I'll have to raid hubby's tool shed now and make some lol!

    Thanks for sharing

    Take Care,

    Kylie X

  • @billieprd Thanks Kylie. Hubby's everywhere will be locking up their sheds and garages now, teehee.

  • I found my metal sheets in a pack of maybe 25 at Robert's Crafts. I bet you could get them other places too.

  • @klipngirl I checked Michaels they didn't have them. That is about the only craft store we have here....oh wait we have an art supply store I will check out them. They are pricey, who am i kidding everything here is pricey, teehee.

  • Those little elves are all over the world but I don't like it when they take my stuff.

  • @Evilin0861 One of those elves took my tiny zig pen, still haven;t found it.

  • I've had this on my list for a while now because my husband ran out! :o)

  • @nickelnook1 LOL, did he run out of it because you used it on a project ;)

  • Thanks for the video. I had been eyeballing this tape in our garage. My husband had a roll of it and now it's mine! It has suddenly been misplaced. Blame it on those little elves that I have in my house....he he!

  • @Evilin0861 Don't you love those little elves, as long as they don't misplace our tools, teehee

  • Hey Tracy. Good tutorial thanks so much. We call it Air Conditioning tape over here as they wrap up the air conditioning pipes etc with it but ours is sticky backed but without the backing paper so you just roll it on. But it is fun to play with isn't it?

    Hugs

    Michelle

  • @bohemiangypsy99 Funny how products have different names. Thanks, Michelle. I have to find some other idea :)

  • love the idea. i don't know if they sell these kind of tape overhere. never seen it in the diy stores. tfs.

  • @swingersweb It should be by the duct work products. Hope you can find some, if not try the tin foil (for cooking and glueing it on the cardstock. Just make sure it is adhered end to end

  • This is a great idea. I am sending my husband to the hardware store in the morning.

  • @lavendarrose29 Teehee, our husbands sure love us to do this ;)

  • I did this with foil tape too! My husband told us definitely do not touch the foil tape it isn't cheap...lol. It comes out great! And it has adhesive!!!

  • @dangerousangel695 LOL. I don't know the price of it, we just had some left over from when we put in our dryer. You just need little pieces, he won;t notice, lol

  • TFS..I've been playing with the metal tape as well. Hubby just bought me another roll...it is kind of expensive here? Tim Holtz is coming out with some adhesive foil, so can't wait for that. I made some metal looking embellishments with the tape as well...works great and fun to see what you can come up with.

    Thanks Again..RuthAnn

  • @TheMoparlvr I am not sure of the price here, we had some left over. Interesting about Tim Holtz coming out with some. Pay attention though, it may be cheaper to use the stuff from the home improvement store ;)

  • What a clever idea. Those tags came out beautiful, who woukd ever know? Thank you for sharing.

  • @usaearthling Thanks, I still need to play around with them, those were the only ones I did.

  • @TracysTreasures24 It's such a great idea though. I did find some 4x12 metal sheets with adhesive at Hobby Lobby- 12 sheets for 4.99. They were labeled as "Specially designed for QuicKutz die-cutting tools" but I was able to use them in my Sizzix/Big Shot witha Cuttle bug embosser. Loved them. Keep up the great work and the awesome ideas.

  • TFS! Where did you get that tape from? I can't wait to try it. :)

  • @zel475 I got the tape from a hard ware store.

    Have fun :)

  • I have made metal tags with tin foil and my Xyron and it works. It stabilizes it quite well to use cardstock in the center. I have also made them using colored metallic sheets purchased at the craft store. TFS

  • @klipngirl Thanks for this. I haven't yet tried to tin foil, but was thinking it would work as well.

I haven't seen the metallic sheets, where abouts would they be? I have to check them out ;)

  • That was pretty clever of you :0) Turned out really cool!

  • @babytweetums Thanks Schell. When I put the words "clever" and "Me" in the same sentence my girls just laugh :)

  • really cool technique thanks for sharing....

  • @mscindy47 Thank you for commenting :)

  • Love the birdcage : )

    TFS , love : ) Patricia

  • @tubeyoumaster1 Thanks Patricia, I too love that birdcage die :)

  • very pretty, did you cute the birdcage out first?

  • @MHarrington8406 I did the birdcage after I embossed it. I thought it may squish it but it didn't :)

  • thanks for sharing this simple technique.

  • @cricutnewbie Thank you for commenting :)
