@Slench101 no, the Atari 2600's CPU was a 1.19 megahertz 8-bit MOS Technology 6507, which was a cheaper version of the 6502, so...yeah the Atari was part of the 8-bit era also
@papermario47 but the graphics matched the 4 bit: simple and few colours, no details black background and no background music, all 4 bit characteristics
One of the most compelling games I've played recently. It has an authentic retro vibe, and a respectful nod at each era of gaming.
Cooperative play enhances what is a fun, addictive experience. Granted, it won't be for everyone (particularly those who aren't fond of retro games or high-score collect-athons) but it's by no means poorly designed or a failure as suggested by some.
A hidden gem that doesn't deserve to be overlooked. :-)
this game is awesome! i dont know what drugs those game reviewers are on, but this game is just flat out fun! the concept is great! and of course the gameplay never changes. alot of games do that. take super mario bros for example. the whole game is jumping on enemies and getting from point a to point b. and this game does not need online leaderboards. for 600 wiipoints, its a must buy!!!
This seriously needs a sequel. It was fun, but waaaaaaay too short.

@sontuk96 the 4 bit era was the atari 2600 for instance, so yeah there was a 4 bit era

@Slench101 I know that was copying 4-bit, I was just saying the 2600 wasn't :P

@sontuk96 There was never a 4-bit era just that how BPlus describe the Atari 2600 styled graphics.
So the 4-bit era discribe in this game is actually early 8-bit

I was pretty excited about this game, since I had developed a similar concept a few years ago but it would have been an action rpg type game.
Anyways, the concept is really awesome but the gameplay never really changes.
It would have been nice to have had a larger variety, like a shooter style game and then maybe a racing game?
I liked it but it could have been better, maybe next time?
Also an online leaderboard would have spiced it up.

The only bad thing, The horrible 8 bit bleeping sound does not stop after the 8 bit era. Had to turn my volume down.

Looks good, but I've heard bad reviews... which is a shame.

it's disappointingly simple- the novelty wares off once you realize it's shovelware
